Merry meeting everyone!
My name is Kayla,
I am a 16 year old from Brunswick, Maine.
I realized I was Pagan when I was 10.
I lived with my religious grandparents until I was 10,
when we moved to Maine. Both of them were excommunicated Catholics. The got excommunicated for marrying each other, because my grandfather had been divorced. My grandmother received communion from the Episcopal church, but is now a non practicing Christian.
From age 10 to now, I've lived with my father, who believes in a god, but does not believe in Christianity, and a formerly Catholic step-mother, who is still trying to find her religion. I also spend time with my mother and step father who are Southern Baptists.
I am very lucky, for my parents are completely supportive of my religious beliefs. I know that's important coming from someone of my age, because a lot of teens don't get the same support that I do. I'm very grateful for that!

My religious beliefs are mainly Celtic. I use the Celtic pantheon. I am also drawn to the Hindu religion. I'm very interested in herbal magick and healing. I am also currently learning Tarot and palm reading. I take magick very seriously, and can not stand people being irresponsible with it. I am not a teenager that is dabbling with the occult. I know this is my path, and I wish to meet others that follow my path.

Brightest Blessings,
Kayla

Welcome home, Kayla!

Be sure to hop into our Green Room every now and then: they like people who know about herbs. Also check out the Divination forum for all your Tarot reading needs.

Blessings!

I will certainly take a look at the green room, and the divination forum.

Brightest Blessings,
Kayla

Very seriously stated!

I know what it's like to get that stereotype of "teenager dabbling in the occult" from outsiders who don't know what your life has been like.

Personally, I was raised by (my mom) the daughter of a Wiccan priestess and a Southern Baptist and my dad... who is knowledgable about the Bible, etc, was raised in a Southern Baptist household and still at least claims that sysem as his own (but he's really supportive).

Anyway, welcome to MW!

Thank You!
Actually, the most criticism I've ever received was from a fellow Pagan. I was deeply hurt by it, and up until now, I haven't been on a Pagan forum since.

Having parents that are supportive makes life so much easier. I think it helped that my aunt and uncle (my step mother's brother and sister-in-law) are Wiccan, and talked to them about it when I came out and told them that I had chosen Paganism as my path.

Take care,
Kayla

Thank you everyone for your warm welcomes!

I love Maine. I grew up in busy Massachusetts (and will hopefully go to college down there!) but when I'm done with school, I want to move up north! I've lived in Maine for 6 years, but we have always had a summer cottage on Peaks Island, so I've been coming to Maine my whole life! (since I was 2 weeks old, to be exact!)
