I was wondering, what book do you guys think would be the best book about Gods and Goddesses? Or which books? I love reading about mythology and the Gods, and I'd love to read new books about them, any thoughts? What would you recomend? :)

Depends on your choice of Pantheon. I don't know of a particular book that covers a lot of different ones effectively.

If you tell me what pantheon you are interested in learning more about, I could give you some good sources to read. I do have a book that covers many pantheons. The book is the Ultimate Encyclopedia of Mythology byArthur Cotterell and Rachel Storm. It tells a little about each god or goddess in the various pantheons. In addition, the book is loaded with great pictures.

I also have some good recommendations for the Greek, Roman, Norse and Celtic pantheon, so tell us what group of dieties that you are interested in.

Accually, I'm not looking for anything on a precist pantheon, I'm just really interested in learning more about Gods and Goddesses. And I don't work with only one pantheon, so it's really just about all of them! :)

I'll look for the Encyclopedia, it looks interesting!

Here is the complete information of the Encyclopedia book that I was talking about.

Cotterell, Arthur and Storm, Rachel. The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Mythology New York: Hermes House, 2002.

Since you don't have a particular pantheon in mind, I will tell you about one of my favorite books. I love to read Ovid's Metamorphoses The book has loads of fabulous stories about the Roman gods. Besides being entertaining, you get to learn about all the symbols associated with the Roman gods when you read these stories.
