Greetings everyone!
I am making a wand today and want to use colors that represent each of the Elements. I know green is earth, red is fire, and blue is water, but what is air and spirit?
I was thinking white and purple but I want to be sure before I go any further on my wand. Thanks!

I have a question-- if certain colors represent something to you, but aren't technically the "right" colors for a certain thing according to various books, is it okay to use them anyway? For instance, by definition of a few books I own, the color white is for purification, protection, and then the color purple is seen as healing for more serious diseases, etc. If to me, white is the strongest healer, would it be less effective to light a white candle instead of the purple for someone seriously ill?

The colors, in this case candles, are nothing more than symbolic.
The candle does not work any magick, you do...

;) Merry Meet -
I believe that it is your intention and/or visualization that brings the magic. Of course the candle, I suppose, is a sort of catalyst (using the correct word?) - but it does not do the magik! So, I agree with EagleWolf, here.
If you're on a budget, you may want to just use whatever is on sale, or make your own. I usually annoint my candles and initiate them - so to speak - before using them. I want to use them without getting burned! He, he, he! Sorry, I couldn't resist the pun!:D
I hope this was of some assistance or reassurance for you.
Blessed be -

I buy my candles at the Dollar Store. If you feel the need to use certain colors to aid you in your work that's cool too, but don't break yourself buying real expensive candles. Remember the colors are to help you focus, they (the colors) don't do anything themselves, but then that's just my take on it as well.
'Nuff said by this cat! ;)
