I guess that depends on which RenFest you're talking about. :)

I believe I will be going there on Sept 7-8. This would be my first Ren Faire... heh heh.

Oh, I've been to PA Ren Faire 3 years in a row. I'll be going this year as well. I'm from DE, so it's rather easy to shoot up there for a day. Just make sure you don't come on a school day. There's mandatory events, and they don't sell specific things. Mainly swords and athames. Basically they tone down the entire Pagan influence on those days. What a crock. Anywho, go, it's fabulous.

I don't go to school, so avoiding it shouldn't be a problem. :D
I believe my mom is going to take us up there and we'll be staying overnight for two days... should I be aware of anything before I go, or no?

Not particularly. It's a fabulous place. It's very removed from civilization, so I don't know where you plan to stay. But there's a little town just a mile up the road. There might be an inn around there somewhere. I think it's called Altoona. Don't take my word for it. Are you going dressed in costume? Please do. It's confusing when people come in dressed in street clothes. Besides, it ruins the mood. There's really nothing else. I've heard it's smaller than most Ren Faires but I can't attest to that because I've never been to another. Let us hope that Sept. 7 and 8 are good weather days. Eh?

I want to dress up, but I wouldn't even know what to wear.
And I don't have any money to get anything. :(
Right now, the best I can do is this shirt I got yesterday that's kind of what I'd say the top of a typical renaissance-esque dress would look like.

Hey, go with it. I've even seen a few tunic shirts straight out of the seventies that work wonderfully. Go to your community theatre and ask if you can borrow period pants.
