Referred to as Botryoidal Fluorite, Shu Fa Stone or Calligraphy Stone due to its resemblance to calligraphy writing this is a new find of the material out of China. It has caught on big time within the Feng Shui community and I must say that it does have a rather pleasing effect when placed within a family room or someplace similar. I look forward to seeing how it effects a room over the long term. You will always find it cut into slabs like the specimen below which gives it its distinctive calligraphy look. The slabs are also usually quite large... the one below stands about 30cm high.

Cool!
Where can we find it and about how much will it cost?
Is there anything we should watch out for?
Thanks! :)

I picked up this piece at the Tucson show for $50.00 US. Haven`t seen too much of it around elsewhere but once in a while you see it on ebay or other dealers on the net.
As far as what to look out for... nothing really... just get a piece which is eye appealing to you as it comes in many different forms due to the hollows as well as how the matrix mixes with it. I Picked this piece based on shape and also because it shows many areas of the Botryoidal form on the edges which I find very appealing. I also like this piece cause it has a good amount of matrix which makes for a nice contrast, in my opinion, with the Fluorite. The big hunk of matrix on the bottom also gives it the appearence of a base area from which the fluorite projects upward from.. again... something I find cool.
The dealer had slabs there that were about 3 to 4 feet tall and 1 to 2 feet wide. They were so cool but there is no way I could have gotten it home without it breaking so I wasnt even gonna try. All the slabs are from .3 to 1 inch thick depending on size
The matrix seems to be very porous so larger pieces would be pretty fragile in my opinion.
