I've gotten a couple of email requests to see the rest of my Brazilian bird and crystals collection so here it is minus the ones I am selling, except the mini tucan which I am thinking twice about selling, lol...
As you can see I have a serious labradorite fetish and I also love amethyst, citrine and ice quartz. See my labradorite skull? I love him. He is so cool. The spotted jasper elephant is a favorite too, with his spotted jasper mountain behind him. The little bronze guy is the Indian Elephant God Ganesha.
bigger hand sized crystals, all 3 of these are just exceptionally gorgeous...This dark amethyst, drove me about nuts in the shop because it was very expensive. The bigger pieces 4X this size I just couldn't afford them, even with my discount really, but then he got this "baby" one and I snatched it right up! This citrine, flamed my hand the first time I picked it up it was so hot. This crystal, my pic not doing it justice at all, a thousand tiny points a lot with rainbows and doubles inside...

The amethyst under the amethyst and serpentine bird has all these flower clusters on it. Red jasper parrot has an amethyst and citrine bottom (ametrine) and like Edgar is museum quality which is top of the scale. $300-400 bird, retail, gorgeous, huh?

and lastly my OOAK big boy, Edgar, sorry couldn't get his crystal properly today, too much shine and not enough light today. It's all hundreds of gorgeous points all sweeping to the right like wheat in a breeze. He has garnet eyes too, which is just lovely...

There are some more smaller pieces but I can't get them right, the nasty light today...
More later...

LOL, well I doubt I will be selling this lot! I might end up doing another small bird or two, but those big ones, those are my favorites. I thought about it, and for now I think I am going to keep my crystal and amethyst palm-sized crystals, though I may be selling either the large citrine point and/or my large piece of dark citrine. They'd go pretty fast and I do want to keep one I think, but I can't quite make up my mind there. I may end up selling one of those amethyst chunks too. Again, it's just a question of which, but the big birds are likely staying except for Big Green Parrot...

The first bird I picked out from your "for sale" lot looks like Edgar's little brother! :)

I think there is only one place in NYC that sells those birds. Would you believe that.
I only have a fluorite owl about 3 inches tall.

I can believe it. There was only one store to buy them from where and when I got these and it doesn't exist now. You do see them online. It's a cottage industry in Brazil, but the quality and stones beneath these are a lot better than most of what you'd see out there. There are basically a lot of these artists who do a "nice" job of making these birds, and then there are the TOP guys, of which this guy is supposedly one of the top three. The higher you go up in price with this guy, the more detailed his birds go and I have never seen a stone beneath one of his birds that wasn't nice to superb besides. He takes great pride in his work, I think...

I actually bought him to be the baby to the Big Mama on the end, far R. Edgar has never been duplicated even in mini to my knowledge though I did try to persuade my boss to go there because I knew he would sell smaller to a lot of folks. He did eventually get the guy to make some gorgeous doves, but those I never managed to get my hands on. Too big, and my boss only had 3 made...
I love the way the stone curves under the Mama African Grey. It's a very unique and special stone and it called to me bigtime the moment I saw it. That bird wasn't the one on the stone, actually. I made a switch to have one I liked. My boss was amused, but I had to have THAT stone and THAT bird.

anyhow here it is.

Edgar is the big OOAK black dolomite Raven, on the white crystal.
He's named after Mr Poe....
I'm sorry, I just realized I left off a pic, the one of Edgar, oh sheesh, no wonder you all were confused!

I put this above too, but here you go....
He's a pretty big boy, bigger than all the rest of mine, and absolutely exquisite in person. He was a special gift from my boss, made to my specs, from a raven pic. I thought he was supposed to be a much smaller bird, ordered him that way, but he came in a lot larger size than I ordered because the artist was amused by my request for an all black bird on a "sparkley white crystal" and made it special for me. The crystal under him is pretty darned spectacular, a multitude of points with rainbows sweeping to the side like wheat in the wind!
I was pretty much prepared at the time to waste 2 paychecks on him if necessary, lol, but my boss just gave him to me for my 40th! He got PLENTY of attention the day he brought him in. I had THREE offers before I left for the day, and let's just put it this way, I was VERY glad he was locked in a case! I don't think I'd have gotten home with him otherwise. He's about $450 worth of museum quality bird, about an 11 on a scale of 1-10 and STUNNING if you ask me! Garnet eyes, silver feet, top notch work, the detail is amazing on him and FYI my pic doesn't do him justice at ALL. My boss later borrowed him to show off at trade shows and he got a lot of attention there too! So far as I know though the artist has not made another like him.
I want try taking him outside in the sun to shoot.
Too hard to get that crystal indoors...

WOW!!!!!
I was just thinking as I was waking up today..... how cool would it be to have a crow or raven done in black tourmaline! What is Edgar? and how big is he?
OK, just read he was dolomite! oops..... but how big is he?

He's pretty big. He's considered an extra large table bird. 13" tall I think, 6" wide at his widest part, not counting his crystal. The crystal is about 8" tall and 12" wide if that gives you some idea. He weighs quite a bit, my Edgar, he's a heavy piece. He's much bigger than most of my other birds, though at first glance he looks about the same size as the larger amethyst cockatoo. He's not though. That one is actually a lot smaller. The cockatoo is just taller than he is because of the crest and longer tail. Edgar is actually twice that size and weight, easily. Just to give you an idea the green parrot, and amethyst cockatoo are about the same size, disregarding the crest addition. The large red jasper parrot is slightly smaller, but a bit thicker. Edgar is 2- 2 1/2 times as big as any of them, but slightly shorter than the cockatoo because of the crest height thing.
Just to reiterate, he is to my knowledge an OOAK bird. You might get someone else down there to do one, but you'd definitely need to make a trip (and speak fluent Portuguese) because the really good artists mostly don't speak English from what I understand. It would also likely cost you a cool $500 plus for a museum quality dolomite one like this! Tourmaline, IF they could find a piece that big, it would run you thousands I am sure. This guy he has only done the one that I know of, and I practically had to beg, lol. I actually I did see a small palm sized crow done by a Brazilian artist once online, but that wasn't even close to being as nice...
