Yesterday I bought my first tarot deck! I'm so happy with it - for long time I was skeptical, thinking that tarot was really not my thing, but got a book out from the library anyway (Amber Jayanti's Living Tarot) and my interest was sparked. I went shopping yesterday - NOT with the intention of buying a deck - and came home with the Hanson-Roberts deck which I find very gentle and positive.

Is there a thread here on various decks you all use? Anyone else loves the Hanson Roberts'?

I don't know if there is another thread on this already but . . .

My first deck was The Renaissance Tarot and it's still my favorite. I also have the Witches Tarot, and Tarot Art Nouveau. I have the Tarot of the Southwest Sacred tribes as well but I put that up in the Marketplace because I never use it and they really want a good home :)

That is neat Ganga, how they called to you. :)

I only have two decks. Universal waite, which was a really good deck to learn on as a beginner IMHO. And now I am working with The celtic Dragon deck, which is beautiful and speaks to me on a deeper level. Someday I would also like to get the Robin Wood deck.

lol, I think there are quite a few threads out there on decks we use and favourite ones.. :)
Its always cool to re-cap though ~ I use the Secret tarot for nearly all of my readings, then the Mythic for friends who want to use this one, and I generally keep my Sacred Circle for meditations and dream work :)

I love the Hanson Robert Deck too for its lovely images and general energy feel.

:boing: have fun with your new deck and hope to see you around here loads

I am using the Vampire Tarot at the immediate time...

My first deck was the Thoth Deck by Crowley... That one is really nice for myself.

Have a great day!

My first deck was the Rider-Waite. I still use it for all my readings for others, but I like to use my Spiral deck for readings for myself. :) (I'm still breaking it in)

My first deck was the Universal-Waite. I liked it better than the regular Rider-Waite as the colors were a lot more soothing. I used that deck for about 3 or 4 years until I felt that I needed to move on. Within the same month I bought the Hallowe'en Tarot and the Celtic Dragon Tarot, which I both love.

Congrats on your first deck Ganga :D.
