I got a really ugly water globe thing from the Oregon Coast when I was 6. It looked like a treasure chest, and it had a seal in it. And glitter. It was hideous. I still have it. LOL
I have a Pennsylvania keychain.. but it's cool. It's pewter, and it's in the shape of PA, with all the major cities listed on it. I got that when I was in Allentown. And I was broke when I was in Indiana, so I didn't get anything but those free travel brochures.. but I have tons of those. LOL

It's not something I've gotten (thank goodness!). If you go to South/North Dakota, Wyoming & Montana there are TONS of them. They're the aptly named, "Turd Birds." Someone got the great idea to make pieces of horse (at least that's what the labels say) manure into birds. It definately tops the ugly chart with googly eyes glued hap-hazardly onto the front, and pipe-cleaner limbs jammed into the sides. Oh! But to make them just a little more cute, the "designer" glued them to little flowered pedestals. I have only a couple things to say about this souvenir:
:(   :bug: :ugh: :woah: :ack: :blushake: :eyebrow: :ahhhh:

Hmmmmmmm...haven't gotten too many whacky souvenir's. Went to the US Mint once, and got a pen filled up with a bunch of shredded 1 dollar bills. When I went to Smugglers' Notch in Vermont, with my ex boyfriend, i picked up a stone that looked like it had quartz in it. Brought it home, soaked it in water to take the dirt off, and discovered it was Rose Quartz. That's pretty much it :)

I got a rock with "goggly" eyes on it once. From Florida. I think my Aunt gave it to me.
When I was little, my Grandparents (mom's side) used to travel a lot, especially to the Carribean. The used to bring me back cool stuff. I have two dolls that they brought me back. One is a straw doll from the Bahamas (i think that's where) and the other is a rag doll made to resemble a Jamaican woman with a baset on her head. It's really pretty. I have them both still. This is OVER 20 years ago that I got them. :)

A student professional association I belonged to in college held a rubber chicken toss contest. They were also giving out free lollipops. I kept mine as a souvenir because it's a miniature rubber chicken with a Charms Tootsie Pop sticking out of its open beak. :)
Naturally, I have it on my bookcase here at work with my other weird stuff (pet rock frog, tiny galloping black Mulan horse, a glass fish with hot pink sunglasses, and my blue and yellow smiley face Prozac pencil).

Funnily enough, I'm just back after trying to find lots of tacky stuff for my mates on holiday.
Among the dross: a Grow Your Own Shamrock kit, a Lucky Irish wishing stone (a piece of marble), a pair of Guinness coffee mugs (quite cute actually, they're matt black with a white rim around the top) and I had to stop myself from getting one of those mad football hats shaped like a Jester's with bells and stuff on.
Tack heaven!!! :D :D :D
