Lammas fast

for those who are not aware of it, there is a group fast planned for this weekend, the last weekend before the First Harvest Festival, July 26th at 6:00PM until July 28th at 6:00PM.

basically, this is a fast and a group meditation focussed on honoring Gaia and healing the planet. there are people from 4 or 5 different sites participating, and the group energy raised should be substantial.
in addition, we are asking everyone who participates (at any level, please read the link) to make a donation, large or small, to a local food bank. if this is not possible, then some sort of neighborhood cleanup is encouraged.
in lieu of a total fast, you can participate by giving up TV, or cigarettes, or ???. any level of committment will be appreciated. and if nothing else, then perhaps you can lend your energy to the cause on Saturday night.

Thanks for sharing this link! I don't think I had better do the total fast this week-end or else they will surely stick me back in the hospital after seeing my lab work on Monday. I can come up with something though and can certainly contribute to the energy! Thanks again for sharing.

Though I'm not participating, as I previously said I would (D'oh! Forgot totally...and it's too late to give up sugar or TV or something. :rolleyes: ) I will certainly send all the fasters energy this evening. :)

well, i'm at 32 hours and doing okay. i want to eat, but not so much out of hunger as much as scheduele. my body-clock is taking notice!
i've done this before, the last time before my initiation. it's really not that bad, especially after the first 24 hours.

today the Dragonfly and i drove out into the Coast Range along the old logging trails. we got into the clearcuts and did a few simple healing rituals. being in these massive scars really drove home the point of the fast, and it felt like the right place to be.
i hope everyone else is doing well. there's been a couple of people drop out already, but their hearts are in the right place, and that's what matters.

okay, i'm done.
i decided yesterday that i was going to go for 72 hours, since i was feeling so good, and not hungry at all. and i made it to 74 hours total. i feel great! but the hunger pangs kicked in at lunchtime (as they do, right on scheduele), and i thought about going until dinner. but it's over.
i made a very deep and real connection to Gaia this weekend, and got alot of personal work done. this was definitely a worthwhile thing for me (and many others who participated), and i'm hoping to see signs of the planet's healing that will show our intent at work.
and while i think i could have taken this further, it all just felt complete.
i had a bit of cheese and some whole wheat bread a few hours ago, and dragonfly is making me some veggie pasta for dinner (dinner! i haven't had dinner since Thursday night!). through all of this, the one thing i was really craving was pasta.
thanks to everyone who came along on this journey, and all who sent your support. it helped alot!
maybe i'll do this again next year. anybody with me?
