good grief...

So we owe like 3700 on our car...
its broken-- dead- 6 foot under-- gone-- rotting-- POS-- BROKEN!

There is a local dealership here that says "we'll pay off your trade no matter how much you owe" .... yha, sure, whatever....

We have to have a car with our daughter about to have brain surgery 3 hours away... so we decided we were tired of getting rid of the broke down junkers only to buy a broken down junker... we got a 2006 with 27000 miles on it.

We were totally scammed by the dealership-- we were in the heat of the moment, scared to death to not have transportation, its a nightmare--- we got a car, signed the papers, and he brings in the paperwork to pay off the broken car... and his manager comes in and says that they can't take the trade in or pay it off....

greeeeat...
broken car payment: 320/mo
new car payment: 360/mo

mortgage payment : 714
combined car payments: 680

holy crap-- my cars equal a house-- you cannot be serious...

anyway-- so now were like totally screwed... we've been told by other people to call this company or this loan place or where ever and that they'll give us the loan and make our payments at like 100-120 a month-- can't get approved.
We had a co-signer for a 3 of the applications, now i'm afraid to push our luck b/c the co-signer is my husband boss...
now, i'm thinking we should just ask the boss for the loan and he can take the $ directly from hubbys check every week... BUT-- again with the pushing our luck...

i'm scared to death, i dont know what to do, i can return the new car-- but then we have no car...
normally we would fix the broken car- always have before... problem is it needs about 2K worth of electrical work-- thats a totally different story but the short version is- the starter went out and while trying to adjust it to see if it was just locked up, we f-ed up. I turned the key and every wire in the car smoked and melted the plastic coating off--- now theres nothing- killed the battery too.
its a 99 with 153,000 miles on it-- and its just not worth it to fix it-- it needs all new wiring thorugh the entire car-- the freaking wires to the trunk light are melted too... THE ENTIRE CAR!

anyway-- so now we're stuck in a hard spot again.
the broken car company said we can do a "voluntary repo"... but we still have to pay for the car and we'll still get weekly phone calls asking for the 80$/week payment... yay... sounds like loads of fun...

*sigh*

i have a horrid headache now.. i'm dehydrated from crying...

seems like everytime something starts going right--- it all crumbles and puts us further behind than we were.

what really sucks? if i had known all this-- i wouldn't have started a kitchen remodel- we've already spent more than 3700 on the kitchen-- and i already tried to return the cabinets and things-- they laughed and said they couldn't take them back ("NO REFUNDS")
we had enough tax return to pay the car off and it was running fine. I drove it maybe 2 hours before it broke-- it broke in the driveway when we were going to run to lowes to get something for the kitchen...

so incredibly frustrating...

so... now i'm needing a loan again and i have nobody to ask... it just SUCKS!!!!

I'm in the loan-seeking mode right now, too. I hope that it works out for you and that you're able to get the help that you need to get this car situation taken care of! :hugz:

Loan energy and I hope you'll be able to pay it off later.

OMG, I like never want another loan in my life, I've had a student loan from 2002-2003 (my time at a local university) hanging over me forever.
