I just wanted to tell you...

My grandmother died today. We've been expecting it for weeks, but it still hurts... I wanted to tell you this, because you've proven to be wonderful, compassionate and understanding people. And I need to speak to someone who understands and is objective at the same time...

I'd like to share my thoughts of her. My grandmother was one of the best people I've ever known. She had a very hard life. She survived two world wars, bore seven children, two of whom died. She was widowed twice. Her first husband died when their younger daughter was just a couple months old. With two children and no one to help her, she had to struggle during the second world war. She worked hard all her life, she never had much money, but always was the most generous person, always ready to help others. Even though life wasn't treating her very well, she never complained and was always happy, smiling, kind person.

She lived to be 92, but the last months of her life were very painful for her as well as for us. She seemed to live her own world, sometimes didn't recognize us. During her last days she wasn't able to eat or dring anymore. It was so painful to see what happened to this once so full of life and love woman...

I wanted to write about her also to thank the Gods that I had the privilage of knowing her. And to ask you for some energy for my family for the days to come. Thanks for bearing with me and sorry for bringing up such a sad matter.

I am so sorry for your loss. My Grandmother died 10 years ago (one week before my sweet sixteen) and still there are moments where I wish I could pick up the phone and talk to her.
