Konnichi Wa to All:

There was two or three Poems that I liked, but being a Dedicant of Basteth, the Egyptian Goddess of all Cats and Felines, I had to go with "The Cheetah".

KNR - 3X3

I too admit that I liked more than one of the entries here. This was a tough decision, but I eventually chose the one which brought out the best initial reaction when I read it.

And Zhr what do you think about having 2 choices next time for the poll?

What do you mean? Being able to vote for 2 different pieces or being able to submit 2? Either way, no I'd rather just submit one and only vote for one.

Also, take a look at who's all voted so far. I thought one of the rules was you couldn't vote for yourself? :eyebrow:

You can have multiple votes in a poll I just chose not to add that this time around.

Well, I re-read every entry (except my own) and marked each one out of ten, this narrowed it down to four that appealed to me. Next, I re-read them again but this time paid closer attention to the mechanics of the poem and rated them out of five for technical achievement. Adding the two scores together gave me my final choice and, as it felt right, I went with it!

Good luck to everyone who participated, it took me back to my student days when we had a Poetry Circle!

Cheers!

As mentioned earlier in this thread someone did not follow rule 2. I hope that next time we have a vote for a contest that this will not be an issue again .. especially if my plans for awarding a prize to the winner of the contest goes through.

So anyways I just wanted to make sure that this was brought to everyones attention so we have no problems in the future. There is no sense in cheating ...

When I was at college in North Wales poetry was very popular, we had weekly meetings in a local pub where submitted work was read by the author and then torn to shred, sorry, criticised by members.

Now the Welsh, being a Celtic nation, tend to get very passionate about literature, especially after a couple of pints, and this led to a warning from the pub's landlord when a Welsh gentleman hurled himself bodily over the table to attack a Scottish gentlman who had unwisely criticised his poem just once too often that night!

The sight of blood didn't bother me so much as the sight of spilt beer! As we trooped out of the door I overheard the barman mutter "We never have this trouble with the bikers! Bloody poets!"

Those were the days................

I stated in my previous post about it

I ran my suggestions by and I am waiting to hear back from GEBS about prizes I thought it would be a nice change from how we did the contest before... I will let people know more when I know more.

Unless these ties are broken, there probably won't be much of a prize to give out, am I right?

Unless these ties are broken, there probably won't be much of a prize to give out, am I right? Well it depends there were three ideas I had presented to GEBS I am still waiting to hear back from her about it.

And if there are no prizes then it just goes back to a congrats to those who won, and that includes ties.
