Hubby and I like to go to the zoo early on Sunday mornings, when it isn't crowded. The kids who come then tend to be better behaved as well.
Today it was fascinating, as we move from exhibit to exhibit with a homeschool group. It was fasinating to here the under seven year olds call each animal by their given name (as well as species name), and compare what activities they were doing today with the activities they were doing last week.
One was watching the baby siamang monkeys, and even compared them to gorillas (they have the same coloring, and similiar play styles).
It was great to see kids so excitied to learn and be still and watch the animals for long periods of time. They were obvioulsy happy kids.
Even when an unexpected rain shower came, and everyone was staying inside the buildings for 20 minutes, they were still well behaved, no running, screaming, or tantrums, even from the two year olds.
Even thought some of my favorite animals were off exhibit, it was still lots of fun.
(Speaking of off exhibit, I will not have computer access for a week, and I will miss you all!)
