Has anyone here recieved any kind of attention from a diety that you didn't previously know a whole lot about, or who you didn't think would show much interest in you? For me, I remember a few years back when i woke up with Oya's name in my head. I had never heard of her previously, but i looked up information on her, and i realized her influence, however brief , made sense at that point in my life.

I know once I had a dream about Aradia. I'd never even heard of her (well, I probably had in passing which allowed me to dream about her) at the time. I don't know though, for me it's very difficult to determine if there is an actual deity presence or if I'm just projecting. Cool beans, though. :)

Yes. It isn't very dramatic or even all that "magical," but I had never suspected that Mercury would want anything to do with me. I had been with Apollo for a while, but at some point, out of nowhere, I'd get this desire to study Mercury. How did I know that urge was Mercury-specific? I have no idea. I just felt that urge for that specific god, and it lasted for two weeks without letting up...so I gave in. I'm still with him (and Apollo).

Well, what would you call attention?

Zeus came to me in 3 dreams, I guess.. I didn't understand the first dream (which was like 5 months ago) until last week, haha. The second dream was about 3 weeks ago and the last dream was last week. I don't know if he wants to make his presence known to me or if he just wants to learn me something, but I'd never have thought Zeus would show up because I had no specific interest in him and he wouldn't be a deity I'd pick on my own but he seems to be a very cool god if you go and research him.

A couple of weeks ago I heard the word 'Ereshkigal' over and over again in my head when I was riding on my bike in the night and I never heard that word before (could be I read it somewhere and I was remembering it) and when I googles it the next day it seemed to be a Sumerian goddess of the underworld. But I don't think She has any interest in me (I do think it was Nebt-Het speaking through her, I read somewhere else here on MW She did that through the Morrigan, because She's said to have no voice, and Ereshkigal lead me to Nebt-het(again) and a dream helped me to confirm that thought too)

Regarding the bolded text. I think you're referring to my post about Nebt-het and my experience with The Morrigan in this thread: Question about Nebt-Het (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=144920)

In which I stated that I read (on some Kemetic sites) that Nebt-het is very quiet (or has no voice of her own, to an extent) and asked:
"also I know Nebt-Het is associated with feathers, but could black crow feathers be linked to her? It seems to fit. Just want to make sure. There's a possibility it was never The Morrigan that one time :2G:"

(this was in reference to an experience I attributed to The Morrigan some time before, there's a thread about it in G&Gs...)

And this, a thought that came to me:

Last night it hit me that even though I was saying that to the Morrigan perhaps it was someone else. If Nebt-Het has no voice of her own, perhaps she was speaking though the Morrigan. Odd combination...but Nebt-Het probably knew that at that time I was focusing on the Morrigan and that would be the clearest way to communicate. Perhaps the silence of the Morrigan was because it wasn't really her or it was the silence of Nebt-het.
This isn't something that I have confirmed, it'd fall into UPG any way. I suppose it is possible that Nebt-het came to me through The Morrigan, but again, I don't know for sure and I also don't know if speaking through other deities is common for her (especially deities outside the Kemetic pantheon).

Just wanted to clear that up, it's not a fact, just conjecture and speculation on my part based off personal experiences (the Nebt-Het / The Morrigan possible linkage). Historically I don't think there'd be a connection between them, but depending on how one views the gods that either matters or not. Not saying it's impossible though!

Saraswati all the way. I was in the HON beginners class and she totally derailed that! Totally out of nowhere.

Zeus, Hermes, Hekate and Aphrodite came in some dreams of mine some months ago...then left-- or rather went silent. I'm not sure what that was about  Though I did know about them (a good deal), they weren't deities I thought would ever make themselves known to me. Especially Zeus.

And there were a few others here and there. I often get urges and pulls to look into a deity and I do (out of nowhere), but many times it doesn't lead to any serious sort of relationship or experiences. I do learn from it though...

Yup. Last summer, Yemaya (although not strictly a deity) made an appearance. I'd never heard of her before, or any of the Orisha, but she was determined to make herself known. I found it slightly strange how any of the Orisha would take an interest in me, but then I have always had a strong connection to the ocean.

Poseidon.

I never felt drawn to him, never looked him up or anything. But he poked and prodded me until I couldn't ignore it anymore. I researched him and...well your looking at the result ;)

Uhu that was the post I meant. I know it's not historical correct and all, but I think gods find/know ways in which they can reach us the best (although they can make you think really hard before you'll get it, like these experiences).
I just figured because Ereshkigal seems to be associated with black feathers too, and when I let my attention slip away to Bast, I had a dream that confirmed it was Nebt-Het.
I do hope you understand I didn't want to put words in your mouth :)

I didn't think you were, I just didn't want you (or anyone else) to assume that my personal speculation was some sort of verifiable fact. Though if you are having experiences with Nebt-het where she does come though other deities, I'm not saying it's wrong. Just for me (the post, experience you mentioned) it was and still is speculation.

Another orisha for me - Oshun came to me quite powerfully last year, when I was having serious self-esteem problems. She appeared in a dream and then in a meditation, and gave me quite a stern talking to about the nature of beauty.
