Ah, so you are looking to shower them with protection I take it? Perhaps something along the lines of 2 white candles, 1 red candle.(the white to represent the daughter and son and red to represent you). Program your intent into them strongly while dressing them with oil.(Olive is fine) light the white ones, compose something along the lines of "this candle represents_______" as you light it. Now light the red, state that it represents you, and the love and protection you send to them. Now drip the red wax onto both white candles (careful not to extinguish the flame) while visualizing a white ball of energy expanding to encompass your daughter and her son in a circle of light. The circle is unbreakable and strong. Hold that as long as you can, when it fades say something like "and so it is done!"

I hope this is kinda what you are looking for. Personalize it as much as possible, like if blue is a stronger protective color to you, use that. If you want add incense or herbs to it, tailor it to fit into your views, concepts of diety, and beliefs.

Get a purple votive candle, carve 3 Tiwaz Runes onto it (Tiwaz is the Rune of the old God of Justice, Tyr)... Tiwaz looks something like this...

...kinda spear, or arrow, or 'scales of justice' shaped...as you carve the Runes, sing/chant/speak the Rune's name (Tiwaz) aloud, & state your purpose... burn it on Tyr's Day (Tuesday)...
