Have you guys ever had experiences with your Patron God or Goddess? Or were called to them. Because it is so strange, because I can feel Thoth almost calling to me sometimes and everytime I meditate with him it is like the most fulfilling experience. I really don't know how to explain it, but is this what you are supposed to feel with your god or goddess. I really should know this-.- :D

Certainly sounds like it. :)

Yes. Hera sent two living, breathing peacocks in my path (literally, as I was driving along), and Seshat sent me a useful dream as well as giving me the office flood I half-jokingly wished for.

Thoth/Djehuty is a wonderful god. He's been described alternately as the consort of Seshat or as her father. He is considered the god of writing, but some also say he stole the idea from Seshat (which actually is just a title meaning The Scribe Goddess).

He is the great magician. A large number of incantations and spells are recited by the human magician as if s/he had become Djehuty. He was a wonderful one to use in healing spells.

He usually appears as either an ibis-headed man or as a baboon with the solar disk resting in an upturned moon crescent on his head.

He was associated by the Romans with the god Hermes.

**edited because I remembered something else**

He's also one of the deities that occasionally changes his/her gender.

there are times where I really need her. Ok most of the time :)

When I cast tarot I usually ask Hochma to make my understanding clear.

**make sense?**

Yup. Bast and Sekhmet both called to me when i was younger, and now i work closely with both of them and have experiences almost everyday. Bast acts like a mother to me and Sekhmet, an older, wiser sister helping me through things and also giving me strength and courage as well as power in ritual.

Funny that you should mention Djeheuty (or Thoth in Greek). I was planning to start a thread on Gods and Goddesses of the Moon once the Sun Gods And Goddesses thread had been up a while :) and Djeheuty was first on my list lol ... i told you we had at least one thing in common mist LOL

Also if Djeheuty is calling to you then listen, open yourself to him and let him speak to you if that is what he wishes, The egyptian deities have a way of putting things bluntly (sekhmet most of all) althought there are one or two that will say things gently hee hee Bast is one and het-hert another, Djeheuty on the other hand is similar to sekhmet in that if you dont get what he means he'll let you know pretty quickly he he he

**snickers** The Neteru are all very persistent. When They want something, there's no point in fighting. Nearly drove me nuts for half a year before I decided to let Them have it Their way.

Seshat's the kind that has rarely ever spoken to her Chosen. She prefers to either give you dreams of what you need to see or hear, or She will show you what she wants in words or on the radio or TV (She's a communication goddess, what'd you expect? ;) ), or else She'll just pop the thought into your head as if it was your own, until suddenly you realize that it wasn't you who thought it. Then you kind of get this "Ohhh, it was You" head-nodding-in-realization feeling.

*chuckles* So I've heard from others in Her care.

Maybe we really should ask Mol if we can have a Tameran/Kemetic forum after all.

**Smiles**

I think it would be a great idea, Mely. . . and I think you'd make a good moderator, having been Tameran as long as you have. It's not like people around here don't behave--well, most of the time, anyway. :p
