Has anyone read Charles De Lint's book called Moonheart? As part of the story, he uses a divination system that he created himself, called Weirdin. The discs used in the story are made of bone & the symbols are carved on them. In the back of the book, he gives a complete listing of the names & description of the discs.

I've been thinking of making a set to play with & wondered if anyone else had tried them.

I read that book back in high school, and I always wanted to try. If you want to play and experiment, I'd be willing to try to make a set for myself and we could compare notes.

I'll be out of town most of next week, but I'd be happy to have a project to come back to.

Ok, I'm game! :D I'm going to read the book again this week & work on the runes. Don't think I'm going to carve them out of bone discs, though.

The one thing I was thinking is that De Lint gives the names of the runes but it doesn't show the actual symbols. That would be up to your interpretation. I think it would be fun.

Looking up his website, it said that he had planned on coming out with a full divination set but no date was set for it.

It's not as easy as I thought. I'm still working on trying come up with symbols of each of the descriptions. I was thinking of making them out of Fimo, keeping with the 1 inch round disc idea.

I was thinking along the same lines, although I'd really like to have horn or bone. But at least for the first set, it doesn't seem practical.
I found my book, but haven't done anything yet. I have some free time tomorrow, however, if I don't dedicate it all to sewing.
