another silly question

or maybe not. I seem to have quite a knack for visualization and I am also drawn to divination, though I'm not sure what type of divination would best utilize the visualization.....phew! what a mouthful that was. If anyone understood that and has any advice on where I might go from here..please let me know.

Scrying and crystal ball reading are types of divination that require visualization. Tarot cards and runes are more about interpreting symbols and connecting them to meanings then visualizing images.

If you really want to get intense, Seidr (sex magick) is a form of both magick and divination and there are some threads in both forums.

Dawn :) ~ Id recommend scrying as your very good with visualisation and your htird eye, any form, crystal, water, candle.. ~ we have lots of threads on them here ~

I think I'm going to look into scrying..seems like it might hold something for me....thanks to all for your suggestions. I will also be doing further research on Seidr, as it seems a little out of my league right now!

(I thought seidr was a little strange to, and tried it with an (ex) friend/teacher (he said it was just a form of trance work..).. now I can kind of recognise my negative feelings towards it and what happened the time I tried it...)

:eek: The best descripton of Seidr as sex magick that I've seen is in Silver RavenWolf's book that accompanies her rune cards....unfortunately, I don't have the book.....the energy is focused, raised and released in the sex center rather than from the third eye. In Norse it means "heating" or "boiling". Freyja practiced Seidr and taught it mainly to women with the exceptiion of Odhinn, who is the sole mythological male figure known to have practiced it. It was required that men dress like women to practice and I guess this put quite a few of them off.......

A member of my community who was raised in the Northern tradition was going to teach us this practice, but her mother advised her against it. She told her that she didn't know enough about it to teach it and that American women wouldn't understand it! :(

boy, I was so naive!.. I actually felt a heat and a tapping down there while I was trying to seidr.. my 'ex-teacher' shrugged it off when I spoke of it but I have always felt it was very wierd.. and after this event I had serious doubts about his trust and code of practice and shortly after cut all contact..
Just proves we have to be very careful as some people out there are not what they appear to be!

Thanks Im glad I did have the protection of my gods, goddesses and guides too! They did actually help and guide me allot back then, as they continue to now. I know it was a lesson meeting him, and I have learnt alot from it ~ Its just a sad thing that I now work alone due to this.. but I know this is way my path is meant to be for a while.

I guess the key to this thread is ~ trust your inner eye!
