Konnichi Wa to All:

I have come to Lesson #7 of Magicka School's Beginners Tarot Course that Lesson is on The Hanged Man Card and Death Card.

In December 2004, after analyzing Recent Events involving Various Wicca Paganistic Covens and E-Groups, I decided that the Tarot Card that Best Signifies me is The Hanged Man Card:

For me, this Card Signifies Enlightenment that comes to those who have Suffered the Trials and Tribulations of Life. At one time, I used the Signature "Sufferage Brings Enlightenment".

It is Points Out that it is through Suffering and Personal Testings that allows one to enter one of the 'Higher' Level of Existence or Undertanding.

Such Stories in Various Mythologies points to Sufferings being necessary for Salvation of One's Souls, such as Christ's Sufferings on the Cross being necessary for Mankind's Sins to Cleansed Away.

Then there is the Story of Odin being Hung off of the World Tree. As it is quoted from the Havamal:
"137.
I trow I hung on that windy Tree
nine whole days and nights,
stabbed with a spear, offered to Odin,
myself to mine own self given,
high on that Tree of which none hath heard
from what roots it rises to heaven.
138.
None refreshed me ever with food or drink,
I peered right down in the deep;
crying aloud I lifted the Runes
then back I fell from thence.

Then there is the Story of the Temptations that were sent to Buddha by the Demon Maya who did not want Buddha to gain Enlightenment. Maya sent Illusions to Tempt or Scare Buddha out of his Meditations. Maya sent Illusions of Fire Arrows and Visions of Beautiful Dancing Girls, but nothing worked as Buddha did not come out of his Meditations and Buddha gained his Enlightenment.

The Hanged Man is also a Traitor in that he wants to Change the Conventions of Society, the Conventions of Religion, and the Conventions of Ethics and Philosophy. The Hanged Man sees things from a different perspective, and is viewed as 'Weird' because of his Unconventional 'Take' on thing. It is from the Enlightenments of The Hanged Man, new Wisdoms would not be Founded.

When this Card comes up, it usually indicates when the Kyuakusama may be going through a Period of Self-Assessment, and Spiritual Redefinement. It also sometimes means some Sacrifice might be necessary before things can start getting better.

I also call this Card to indicate Enlightenment from Difficult Times and Unfair Persecutions.

I feel that I Identify Myself with this Card as I have Suffered Many Slings and Arrows during my Life, mostly I consider Unfair Persecutions. like when I was Banned from some Wicca Paganistic Message Board for the Dastardly Hideous Crime of Posting In Japanese.

But for other reasons that I feel that The Hanged Man Card is the Most Siginificant Card for me.

When I got Moved to the West Coast of British Columbia, I found myself Picked On in Elementary School through to High School for being somehow Different. It got Extreme and Brutal at times. It was when I left Coquitlam and moved to Kitsilano that things got a bit better in that respect.

But my Moving to Kitsilano came about by one of the Worst Betrayals that I ever suffered. That was when my Mother got it into her Head that I was on Drugs and kicked me out of the House to go stay with my Father.

That lead to a rather Bad Scenes as my Step-Mother type and I do not get along, so I had to eventually get an Apartment of my own.

Then I could never seem to get any Jobs, and when I did get a Job, I would always end up Fired. I was always getting Ripped Off by Unscrupulous Employeers. This went on until I got into Residential Property Management.

Then I got interested in Studying the Patterns of History in order to try to Figure Out why Humans can be soooo Mean and Miserable to each other a lot of the time. I Studied Histories of War, Death, Foreign Cultures, Stories of Human Behavior Problems for years. I also Studied Paleontological Histories.

Then it was when I went to Hiroshima and came upon my Survivor Eucalyptus Tree on June 10th 2000, that was when I came to my State of Enlightenment.

It was through the Studying and Analyzing my Life of Sufferages and also Studying the Histories of Other's Sufferages that I came to my State of Enlightenment, while I was kneeling at the Foot of that Sacred Eucalyptus Tree.

Suffrage pertains to the right to vote. I think you meant Suffering.

I often see the hanged man as finding enlightenment (or answers to my problem) through a change in the way I am looking at things. That I am not seeing things the correct way. Just one of my my views on it!
It is always an interesting card to ponder on.

I've done readings for Adam using the Hanged Man, but there are others as well. It's one of my favourite cards too.

It reminds me of Odin and the Runes....

Konnichi Wa to All:

I went Swimming today at Canada Games Pool and a Distant Memory came back to me.

It was the Incident of the Very First Time that I was ever Unjustly Persecuted.

It was when I was about 5 years old and I had just started Kindergarten Elementary School.

Every day, I had to walk about 6 or 8 Blocks to School.

There was Street Crossing Guards who were Grade 6 or 7 Students who where Volunteers who were Trained on helping the Younger Students Cross The Street Safely.

One day, when I on my way to School, I came to the Cross Walk and there was a Dirty Blonde Grade 7 Boy who was the Crossing Guard.

When the Traffic was Clear, he proceeded to allow all the other Children go across the Street, except me. He seemed to pick me out and Would Not Let Me Cross The Street.

For about 3 or 4 Traffic Light Changes, he would let all the other Children Crosse The Street, except me! He did eventually finally let me Cross The Street.

As memory serves me correctly, this Mistreatment Repeated itself 4 or maybe 6 days in a row!

After that, I went and told my Mom about it.

The next day, as my memory serves me correctly, she went with me to School. When I got to the Cross Walk, she stayed back a bit to see what was happening.

When the Boy proceeded to do his Little Power Trip of preventing me from Crossing The Street, my Mom came forward and Pounced On Him!

He was quickly removed from being a Cross Walk Guard!

I still to this day have no idea why he started his Little Power Trip to this day, except for the Theory that he was just reacting to my Hanged Man Aura.

I've never thought of the significance of Buddha with the tree for this. Neat connection.

Then there was another time I was Unjustly Persecuted was when my Own Parents Betrayed Me!

When I was Thirteen, they got Divorsed and then Remarried and I ended up with Two Step Parents.

So when I was around 17, my Mother Kicked Me Out Of The House just because she was Instructed to by her New Boyfriend/Husband, so I had to live with my Father.

Then he Kicked Me Out just because his New Wife/Girlfriend told him to.

So I ended up Unjustly Persecuted by my Own Parents due to the fact that they were into doing whatever it took to make their Partners Happy regardless of whether it Hurt Me Or Not!

And those Pains and Sorrows also Helped me on my Course to becoming More Enlightened!

I have an Italian Friend whose Parents remained Married and have allowed him to live at Home all his Life without having to pay Rent. He is almost 50.

He has always had a Good Job and has been able to Invest every Penny he has ever made into Real Estate.

He is now worth at least 2 to 3 Million Dollars in Real Estate.

Sometimes, I look at him and think something like: "If only my Parents had stayed together, then I may now be something like him."

But I have come to Accept my Life as it is.
