So, a group of people (some pagan, some not) on my college campus decided that it would be fun to mess around with things that were far beyond them--things that they just shouldn't mess with--and now there's all of these...shall we say, less than innocent spirits and energies floating around. Anyone have any helpful tidbits about how to deal with this other than smudging?

I haven't been "active" for a while, and I'm trying to ease back in, but I'm not sure what to do...

Can you give details as to what is going on that makes you believes theres spirits and "energies"?

First of all, I didn't know how rude my post sounded. >_< Forgive me. Anywho, it's in the way some people are acting. Lots of people on campus are getting depressed, falling ill, (not just allergies or colds either). It feels weird on campus, and it felt that way before I even found out it happened, starting a little less than a week ago--when the ritual took place. That and severe changes in personalities and lots of bad luck on the people who did it...

I just want to help before something goes severely wrong, but I'm also wondering if this is a way of telling them not to mess around...

I dunno. Is that any clearer?

I didn't think it was rude... I'm just saying that you shouldn't jump to conclusions, think of the most reasonable things first, like a flu going around or the like. I say you should just let it go, The would probably not let you do some sort of cleansing ritual around them.

What ritual was it by the way?

Any exams coming up? Or just happened? Term papers? Flu? Deaths?

That's the weird thing...nobody will tell me exactly what it was, other than someone was astral-projecting, and some weird things happened...pretty much, this guy decided to try and "summon" Aries. >_< I don't think gods like to be "summoned".

They probably just trying to play a trick on you. Lets just say that they know you're "open-minded". They probably wont tell you what the ritual is because they have probably no idea of what format rituals should follow or give even simple concepts. The best thing to do is just move on with your life, let fools be fools.

Honestly, I wouldn't put it past some of them--but the thing is, the girl who told me wouldn't lie about it...she knows how I feel about people playing tricks on me like that. I know a lot of people say, "Oh, she wouldn't lie", but this one really wouldn't. I dunno. I just wanted to get some opinions/help. Honestly, I wasn't there, and you could be right about the flu--I don't know though. It has felt weird...It just helps to get an outside opinion.

PS--I feel like a nOOb...

Well honey, one of two things has happened - either your friends opened up a Hellmouth, or they're as susceptible to suggestion as a lot of people.

Okay, so I'm only half-joking. ;)

Many times, when people do rituals that they feel unprepared for or only some of them believe in, there's a suggestive effect. People who were at the ritual feel somehow in their subconscious that they should be different - or have done something that might be bad, or cause bad things to happen. Once they start along this line of thinking - especially in a group - things most certainly can "just start happening."

It's not because they called Aries though. It's a similar effect to mass hysteria.

Also, the evidence that I've seen of telekinetic activity (I'm not saying that your friends are TK, just using this as an example,) seems to increase in (a) groups of highly-emotionally charged individuals, (b) women between the ages of 10-25, (c) during times of stress.

Now, thinking objectively, what else do we know about groups of highly emotional women between 10-25 who endure their stress levels spiking? Typically, that they can wreak havoc on their environment! There have been clearly-documented cases of what has been called everything from "mass telekinesis" to "mass hysteria" involving women within those age ranges on their own as well as in groups. The idea of Mind Over Matter is not just a myth.

So, what's this got to do with your situation? Mostly, to reassure you. If you want to do a cleansing with/for your friends, it could help - especially if they're of a mind to believe in what you're doing. You're mostly just reprogramming how you and your friends think about current situations and how much control you allow them to have over your lives.

In short if "cleansing" or "banishing" your ickies away helps - then it works! Contrary-wise, if your friends convince themselves that they're "cursed" or otherwise mal-effected by their ritual, then they also will be.

'Course, you could always just show them what a "superior wizard" you are and cleanse all of them of their mistakes.

LOL, nonono...if you were a nOOb, youd have posted something like so:

OMGtheresa DEMON at mywh school,zomg!!111Giv m3 yur spells so I can banish itttt!!11111

And you are nothing like that. You seem very rational and open to all ideas. So kudos to you for that.

I tend to look for mundane answers first. I would think of, as was suggested above, logical rational reasons for a stress increase on the campus. Have you spoken to others, not involved in all the hocus pocus work to see if they feel anything different? Maybe its just you and a few other perceiving it and expanding it to seem like its all-pervading? Its easy to do that, the mind is a powerful thing, and all feelings should be judged against rational, cool logic IF possible.

What is your path, do you mind if I ask? Maybe have your coven (if applicable) do a positive energy/balancing energy working?

In general, I dont involve myself in the workings of others, to be honest. It isnt my mojo/majic, and frankly, I dont wanna get their karmic and magickal "mud" on me, if that makes sense? I dont tell folks how I do MY work, and I really dont like trying to pin down and fix the crap someone else threw out there. It gives me a headache. LOL.

IF one were to feel so inclined, I'd go badger Elise and Shalaye and Shawn and Lunacie, they are the one's that might give you a really good answer on what to do.

Good luck, dove.
