I love these beautiful animals. I've nearly run off the road several times admiring them here in Oklahoma where they are everywhere.
I collect old Llewellyn's Magickal Almanacs and ran across this article the other night. I'll just be posting a little at a time.
This is from the 1997 edition and an article by Edain McCoy, page 258:
To dream of seeing someone ride a black horse means illness or death, especially if they are seen riding over water.
To see a man in dark clothing mounted on a white horse which is traveling west is another sign of impending death.
To dream of riding a horse traveling east, or up a mountainside, means that you are taking spiritual gifts and manifesting them in your physical world.
To dream that you are riding a horse means that the Otherworld has opened itself to you and that you are free to travel there as long as you stay safely on the horse's back.
To dream that you cannnot dismount a galloping horse indicates the presence of a sexually abusive spirit called a succubus or incubus. This is the origin of the term "hag ridden," meaning to be burdened by a Witch's curse

**laughs** I'm not alone then!
**has also nearly run off the road while looking at horses**
The only times I've dreamt of horses, I've been running with them, alongside them.

I love horses too, when I went to Spain, they were everywhere!!! In the villages I mean, I was in the car with my family, adoptive, just for the trip, and i was like "AWWW... caballos, caballos, caballos" ... And they were litterally laughing at me... Ignorants! :D

The Welsh god Gwyn Ap Nuad rides his otherworldly horses through the night sky, following the baying of his hounds. This "Wild Hunt" is a metaphor for the gathering of souls to take back with him to the Otherworld.

owned horses in the past, but am now currently horse poor.:(
They can be very spiritual and uplifting.
They can also be very cantankerous and ornery.;)
somedays you get the bull, and somedays the bull gets you!

We have 3 Quarter Horses (although none are papered).
2 geldings and one stud horse.
Jake is the one we've had the longest. He's my barrel horse but belongs to my husand who used to rope with him.
Scooter is the stud and he's mine. I show him in Western Pleasure but plan a training him in barrels soon. He's a good pleasure horse.....but I think will be good in barrels too and that's my passion.
Mouse is my son's horse and is the only one that wasn't trained by me.
Actually I haven't competed in about 2 years. But am anxiously awaiting a time that we will be finacially able to hit the road again. Right now the horses are turned out on fine pasture and having the time of their life just being horses!

In rural Western Ireland there is a legend which says that if you sit at a perfectly oriented crossroads just before dawn, light fires at the four corners and ride three times around the intersection on a besom ~ you will see a dark woman upon a white horse ~ the Night Mare ~ fleeing west from the waxing morning light.

Horse goddesses are the original night "mares." The Irish goddess Mare is said to be the bringer of dreams, both pleasant and ugly.

Thats neat she's called Mare. I also know of the Celtic horse goddess, Epona, she often pictured with horses and is said to be there protector and guide, aswell as watching over all who care for horses.
here a really nice link Ive just found on her and pegasus :)

And there's also Rhiannon represented by a white horse. I think she's the goddess of the other world and that she's also the goddess of fertility and of dreams.
btw, very cool Freyja! :)

 Irish horses were used as goddess symbols to bestow sovereignty on kings, who once had to endure rituals which "married" them to horses.
And, horses are a symbol of sexual prowess ;) This is actually Magick: To increase your sexual stamina, take three hairs from a horse's tail and three hairs from your own head and tie them together with a red string. Carry this in your right pocket or place under your bed.

So - what does it mean when you have the opportunity to meet a World Champion racehorse in the course of your job?
I actually met one today! A beautiful, gentle quarterhorse named Golden Jefew :D He got loose and was found running having a blast running around in circles practicing his barrel-racing skills!

Ok, so what would it mean when while fixing your spaceship in a barn a horse spits a piece of regular flavor bubble gum at you? I had this one like 12 years ago and is still one of the most confusing dreams I’ve had.

ah grasshopper.....
perhaps 12 years ago, you were learning the mysteries of life (fixing your spaceship) but getting constantly bogged down, stuck (gum) by everyday things. the horse I am unsure of... he could depend on a lot of things, mainly personal type info and how you feel or view horses.
