I might lose my job. I was counting on this job not only for the steady income but also for the health insurance. I haven't had health insurance in years.
My parents are having problems paying for things, particularly the car insurance. I was going to plan on saving for a used car and getting my own insurance, which would take the burden off my parents. (I live with them and drive one of our two cars.)
This has put me in a very miserable mood. There might be a chance for me to keep my job, but I'm having a hard time being optimistic. I'm so scared to lose this job. I don't know what else I could get. This job allowed me time and privacy to do my homework, full-time, but I don't think I could get another job like that. I'm a FT college student and stress easily as it is.
I just...blah. I didn't need this, especially with finals week coming up. :(

Okay, spill it: What happened? Why might you lose your job? I know it's kind of a personal question, but nevertheless, I'm curious, and perhaps you could get some advice from people if it's something other than perhaps being laid off.
On a different note, I am very sorry that this has happened to you. It seems like many people are having so many financial difficulties (including me, but it's expected when I live on my own early), but I hope on and try to make it work. You know, it's really all you can do after trying one's best with the oppotunity that's given (which in some situations, it seems 'wrong place, wrong time' and the opportunity is missed right behind your back.)

I was denied my D license. (A D license is what security officers must get--unarmed, that is.) At least, I might be denied it. The Division of Agriculture sent me a letter saying I failed to submit a second set of fingerprints. This is partially untrue--I sent in a second set of fingerprints in early April, but they 1) didn't recieve it, 2) it isn't in some system yet, and/or 3) they didn't accept them because they were sent after March 30th. (The Division sent me a letter on February 5th, it contained the March 30th deadline for a set of prints, but because I got caught up in being a FT college student, working two other jobs, and doing violin lessons, I forgot about it. By the time I reread it, it was a couple of days after March 30th.)
They gave me options for hearings, so I'll probably end up doing an informal hearing, i.e. one where I don't fault the agency but provide an explanation in hopes of a reprieve. I think there might also be the option of simply reapplyin for a D license again, since I've already done the first 24 hours of D license classes, but that is extremely expensive and hopefully the last resort. (It's at least better than losing my job entirely.)
Um, but as a sidenote, my dad told me I never saw this letter yet...because the letter told me to stop working immediately. It doesn't seem my company knows, and may not know for a while, if ever, but on the off-chance they don't find out unless I say something, my dad told me to call my manager after I finish working my hours for this week. Which I'll end up doing. It might not be the "right" thing, but it gives me the money that I really need...and I will still be solving the problem, even if there is a lag of a few days. (In case you're wondering, the time limit for submitting a written, informal hearing is within 26 days of receiving the letter.)
