View Full Version : This is supposed to be a Head Cashier?

Had day at work on Friday. I usually don't carry grudges this long (2 days later), but this really burned me up.
I opened the garden center on Friday. Not a big deal, most people who know me know I like garden. I like being apart from all the drama and shit that goes on in the store, and I like being outside.
Now, here's the problem.
People are figuring out that its *gasp* warm outside. Time to plant, time to dig in the yard, time to come stand in my line outside at garden so they don't have to go all the way inside. Not a big problem, except for when I constantly have 5+ customers in my line and I need help. So I call for a head cashier to let them know I need help.
No answer.
Five minutes later, I call again.
Still no answer. My line is now circling around the aisles at the back of the garden area.
Then Ant comes outside, supposedly to help me.
Some of you may have heard about Ant. I do not much like Ant, but if he's gonna get these people out of here, then he's my best friend.
Nope. All he does is stand there and rant to me about how everyone inside has pissed him off and he'd rather be out here with me than in there....all while I'm still trying to ring these people out.
Doesn't help.
Doesn't call anyone over to his side.
Just stands there and complains.
And complains....
And complains....
I eventually tell him to either help me or take his bum back inside. His response to that is "See, Christye, that's an example of talking. You need to do that more often, then I won't forget that your out here and when your lunches and breaks are."
WTF?

Oh I seriously think you need to talk to the manager about this. This dude has no business being "head cashier".

Hope it al works out for you.

I'd walk out. I hate crap like that.

Best Wishes to you, especially if you're in no position to walk out. :hugz:

I would have redirected customers over to him the moment he was within reach, after 1, the customers would sort themselves out (no one likes standing in a line).

Did you call the Front End Supervisor?

She wasn't in the store. From what I was told later, the guys from Outside Garden had gone inside and badgered Ant till he went out there. Its ok, I talked to her last time I saw her. She said she'd deal with it.

I'm glad everything worked out. :)
