I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me to interpret this reading.

I realize that a lot of people advise against doing readings for oneself. However, I have done probably a hundred readings for myself and the cards have been infallible. They have helped me to achieve things I otherwise would not have been able to achieve, and warned me of upcoming surprises. The cards have helped me immensely and I use them for myself daily. I use the Thoth deck.

Usually, I ask questions about specific issues and throw in a general reading once in a while. Today I asked the cards if there is anything I haven't asked about that is important for me to know about, and I got the following in a 4-card reading:

1: 10 Swords - Ruin
2: 3 Disks - Works
3: III The Empress (edited to add: I asked for clarification of who the Empress represents and got Death, 8 Swords , 2 Wands [dominion] and Princess of Swords [she usually respresents my boss]
4: XVIII The Moon

My emotions are blocking my ability to read this clearly. I appreciate the Thoth deck's complete honesty and refusal to hide things, and would appreciate the same from anybody helping to interpret this reading.

I have my own idea what it may mean but I don't want to contaminate anybody else's opinions by posting it here.

I would be grateful for input from anybody experienced with tarot cards and especially somebody with experience with the Thoth deck.

Edit: I gave it some time, took a bath, and came back to it. I felt the Empress either represented my post-op health (recent hysterectomy), my mother (the cards could be saying she's going to lose her job?), or the woman who is going to be my boss soon (a previous reading told me that she has health problems she doesn't know about yet). Since I wasn't sure, I asked for clarification of who she was and drew until I got a court card. I got Death, 8 Swords (interference), 2 Wands (dominion), and finally the Princess of Swords. The Princess of Swords usually represents my [I]current boss. So I'm feeling that my boss might finally be getting fired, and that she's going to fight to the finish and drag as many people as possible down with her. But - I'm not sure. That's why I'm appealing to you all!

I did go to the Dr. (because I already had an appt - not because of this spread) and my health is just fine and dandy. I talked to my mom and it certainly wouldn't bother her if she lost her job so I'm pretty sure this doesn't refer to her.

Thanks in advance!

What do the positions in the spread stand for? Its harder to interpret without knowing anything about the spread being used.

Thanks, Zephyr. In a general reading position #1 is supposed to be the querent, the issue at hand, the heart of the matter. #2 is supposed to be what the querent is drawing to him/herself #3 What the querent is projecting and #4 the solution. However, I haven't really been doing it that way for myself. I just lay out the cards and intuit what they mean.

1. 10- swords (ruin) - Querent - I'd interpret this usually to mean that the seeker feels like some part of their life isn't what they want it to be. Not necessarily total ruin, but more a discontent or a fear of troubles. Its the idea that things aren't working out floating in their head.
2. 3-discs (works) - Attracting - Work is coming your way, for good or ill. There's going to be plenty to do in your life. Given what you have said about the Empress, I'd say that you may find yourself holding down the fort at work, if things go the direction you are thinking it will. But I'd also say that the 10-swords might suggest that the work load will cause you to fear being overburdened when it starts up - be wary of how the workload impacts your perception of your life.
3. Empress - seems to me you've pretty well got that one figured out. just remember, nothing is written in stone - just doing a reading can change the outcome. ;)
4. The Moon - solution - Listen to your intuition, pay attention to hidden motivations, and be aware of your internal monologue. Move with a reflective and careful intent and things will work for the best, but most of all listen to those pesky Intuitions.

Does that help?

Yes, Zephyrstorm, your interpretation did help a lot. Thank you very much for taking the time to do it. I appreciate it very much.

No problem. :)
Everyone has moments when they look at the cards and aren't sure what to make of them.
