I think scrying certainly lends itself to the elements well. You can use a bowl of water, a candle flame or a crystal for that type of divination. Not sure how you'd scry with Air though.... maybe incense or other types of smoke?
I'll have to think if I use particular elements in any other way for divination. Most of my methods involve all the elements not just one in particular.

air - clouds, smoke, direction of wind
fire - fire, candle, lava, flames
water - river, ocean, sand, river rock
earth - dirt, rocks, quartz
just a couple of examples of each
water lends well to emotional work, flow work
fire to passion or motivation, strength, movement through fear
earth to grounding, balance, depth, bury/ release work
air to other thoughts, looking up, make the work/load lighter
that give anyone some ideas???

Been thinking about this a bit more. Since my preferred method of divination is cards, I don't use many elements in the practice. But I can see how you could, if you were going to read for specific things.
Example: You want to do a reading for a romantic relationship. It may help to have a bowl or chalice of water nearby, or even one of those tabletop fountains. Water is emotion, after all, and it would have a calming, flowing effect. You could burn a romantic smelling incense (that would be very subjective, of course... what I find romantic others might not like, etc.) or spritz some of your (or your partner's) perfume / cologne. A nice cloth of of velvet or silk would be kind of earthy and also a sensual feeling. Lighting pink or red candles to enhance the feeling of romance may also help you "get in the mood".
I've never gone this far and done a ritualized reading like that, but it might be interesting to see if it affected the results. Most of the time I just clear off as much space from my desk as I can and try to tune out SpongeBob Squarepants. LOL
Wait, Spongebob lives in a pineapple under the SEA... that's water, right? Does that count? :hehehehe:

Divinations can involve using nine elements (stone, land, nature, sea, wind, moon, sun, stars, sky) to model the cosmos and their corresponding nine for the individual. It is the interactions and contrasts between these elemental choices that influences and shapes the divination. The entire process is powered by the spirits involved in the divination (human, deity and other), Usually Ogham symbols are used for the changeable parts of the divination while cosmic diagrams and structures are used for the background (land, sea or sky).
In dream work, the Ogham have a large number of traditional, symbolic lists and correspondences. These are tied to people, places and things through tales, myths and wisdom teachings. A divination is like a musical score, the elements form the notes and the melody but the spirits of those involved determine the quality and magnitude of the performance. It is the involvement of spirit and personality that shapes both song and divination, preventing each divination from being statically the same and insuring that the dynamics of the readings will apply to the current questions and situations.
A divination is a ritual that is done for a specific purpose and involving all the elements as well as the beings in attendance. I consider the elements of a divination to all be alive; to be unique beings; to be individuals who are favorable or in opposition to the requests being made. As such the reading is like grasping the sense and current running through a room that one has just entered. The initial conditions and dynamics of one's surrounding then go on to provide further insights and meanings.

But he lives in a pineapple under the sea, so as fruit/vegetation does it represent wood or earth? Also, "pineapple=Hawaii" makes pineapple a connection to fiery volcanoes too.
He also plays his spongenose flute like a piper, hence air/bubbles.
Spongebob, the versatile divination tool. Actually, I have gotten signs via Spongebob several times myself :veryweird
For me, it's whatever floats the old divination boat at the time. It's all connected to source, just gotta tap it from the right frame of mind, I guess. I'm good with seeing things in patterns ;p Still working on interpretation of the actual images, though.

well you bring up a great point in truth of "bridge" elements
for example a rock is considered earth (often)
lava rock can be considered used fire
and a river rock used to represent water
as one is so melded with the energy from the other :)
