View Full Version : Declining Health.....

awhile back I had some test done, and they came back positive, it seems my body is producing a highly unsafe amount of cortisone, which may be related to a disease called cushings disease, which would explain not only my diabetes but how no matter how are I try, I can't seem to lose weight, the doctor told me, "you're not overweight, all of your fat is being concentrated in your gut, chest, and face"

which makes sense, my arms and legs are very skinny, especially compared to the rest of my body, it also explains why I have allot of acne, everywhere.

is has also, just recently caused me to have dangerously high blood pressure, I knew it was high, but when he said he as going to go get me some medication for it, and he'd by right back, I was like, is it really that high, and he said, yes, very high. it was 162/(forget the second one) and he said it should be 110-120/over second number.

and of course that affects by blood sugar, making it higher...

the disease eventually leads to such things as heart and other organ failure, it kills slowly, although it is treatable, and thankfully they found before it would have been to late, but it's usually caused by a tumor, and they haven't found it yet, I've had an MRI of my pituitary gland and they found nothing, but it could be to small to show up, but the next likely place is the adrenal glands.

and weather or not thats I have, the fact still remains that my body is producing dangerous hormone levels and they're not sure why yet.... allthough chances are this is what it is...

I was told the generally, the surgery involved isn't usually that bad, and that it's normally easy to remove once found, but then again, thats by surgery standards.... theres always some risk when you cut someone open.

and I can't honestly say I'm not scared or that it's not been on my mind, but I thing I'm mentally strong enough to handle this, but if theres one thing I've learned in life, it's sometimes you just can't prepare for and just when you think your ready, you're usually not....

and they still have to find it, so I can uses all the help I can get... so if you want to keep me around.....xd, honestly though....

I'll try and keep you all informed, but if I'm not on as much, I'm probably busy taking care of this.

EDIT: I just realized I mispelled Health, I'm really stressed right now so I'm not surprises, if a forum guide and/or Admin could change it, thad be great...

thank you all so much, I can't even begin to describe how it feels to know that you have people who you can count on, and who care, you guys have come through for me so many times, and I appreciate that more than I can pt into words.

and I have to be honest, I do feel bad for all the bad news and everything I've put everyone here through in the past, and yes I know, it's not logical, but I do, but hopefully after this all over, things will go much smoother, and I'll be able to be more active on here, and under better circumstances, and it means allot to me that this community, has been there for me time after time.

but, I do want to do my part, not just for myself, but for everyone else as well, I'm not sure of all the ways I could do this, other than being there for people, like those who've been there for me.

I've also downloading a program, that links into a grid, for a project, Folding@Home, it has to do with protein folding, which can cause many diseases (not to say that it's the only cause of a particular disease)

proteins are essential to life as we know it, and the process on which they fold is largely unknown to us, research of this kind and amount was originally done by supercomputers (and some pretty big ones still work on it and help manage the system) but supercomputers costs millions if not billions of dollars, so instead, somebody suggested that they use networks, such as the internet, linking millions of computers, allowing them to work together to complete a task that one alone could not, as I write this, my computer is running simulations, that hopefully, one day, may lead to cures for things like cancer,Parkinson's,muscular dystrophy, and many other others.

some of the benefits of this method as opposed to supercomputers are...

Reliability: a network may include more working parts than a solitary operation, however, if one computer goes down, the whole network keeps on working (unless it's a computer that manages workloads, which I would imagine there are several) as with a single machine setup, if it goes down, the entire process stops until it is back up.

Cost: because many people donate their processing power, and supercomputers aren't needed, you don't need to invest in them, and you save money, allowing for better financial stability of the research, this also, allows extra resources to be pent testing and new possibilities discovered, which leads to .......

Speed: faster research and development do to both the financial aspect, and the massive amount of processing power available.

heres a link....

http://folding.stanford.edu/

and I have quite a few computer parts I can put towards this....

as for me, my blood pressure is doing very well, and I don't seem to be having any sidefects from the medicine I'm taking for it.....

the results from the 24 hour urine test aren't in yet.... and we need to figure out where we are going to look next, which is probably going to be the Adrenal glands...
