The Perseid meteor showers guest the skies this week and will be visable for 5 days. Perseus and Cassiopeia are the constellations in which the Perseid shower will pass through.
The shower of divine light will come through two star systems, Perseus and Cassiopeia, activating that energy system or archetypal energy. The whole premise of this ancient science of astrology is based on the law of correspondence... “As above so below.” So, lets take a deeper metaphysical look at these two star systems.
In the constellation Perseus (“the breaker”), we have the figure of a mighty man, stepping with one foot on the brightest star of the Milky Way. He’s wearing a helmet on his head, has wings on his feet. He is carrying a great sword in his right hand and the great head of the gorgon medusa in his left. The name of the star on his right foot is “Atik” meaning “he who breaks”.
Perseus, in mythology, breaks the bonds of Andromeda (also another constellation) and makes her his wife in a high beautiful ceremony. He also represents the last 10 degrees of Aries, a sign of new beginnings and the beginning of the Tropical Zodiac. Cassiopeia is known as the woman enthroned. She also represents Yin - the Goddess force in all her glory. She sits on the other half of the star entrance that will allow these golden lights to be seen by earth dwellers. The first star to form this beautiful constellation is “Shedar” meaning ‘The Freed’.
We have the opportunity now to relive the magic of mythology and its influence on the stars and ultimately our lives. Lets look at this celestial phenomenon from an archetypal perspective and how it colors our own personal experience as all this energy is activated over the next two weeks.
Perseus is enabling all of us to break free of any old habit patterns, especially fears that we have in our lives. Breaking free of the chains that are self-punishment and guilt and anything else that binds us to the earth such as addictions, depression, anxiety etc. Of course, as he “breaks” these conditions, Andromeda and her divine mother Cassiopeia are there to allow for us to access our divine feminine, which translates as spirituality. That’s the vehicle to take, to break the chains that bind us.
Spirituality is facing our inner “self created” Medusa’s and taking the higher side of this cosmic event through the energies of the divine feminine. Also, we know spirituality and technology are Yin right brained, so this next two weeks is the best time to face, process and release fears.
Work with the elements. Use the energy of earth, quartz to amplify the energy for the celestial shower and the energy of fire and air to purify with scents of sandalwood incense. Since we are concentrating on the divine feminine, lets also look at Venus in Libra. She is dignified, meaning where she belongs in the heavens. Her energy is very strong here since Libra is the sign she rules!
