Ok so I've been working on natal charts, I can draw one up without any trouble and can spot the majority of the aspects without difficulty.
My question is when it comes to interpretting charts do you still use reference books/material? I'm learning the houses, the planets and their rulers, etc. But as far as interpretting a particular aspect do you go off knowing the planetary energy and how that aspect connects them alone? Or do you still look up stuff?
A weird question I know, to me it seems there's way too much info out there to be able to interpret a chart all from the knowledge in my head but maybe that's just me being way too new at this.

Yes, I still look things up in books when I need to. I don't always use every minor point or aspect and need to reference those occasionally.

That said, it's a good tool to read what other authors have written but it can be a crutch if you let it. I had the same problem as you did - I found it hard to figure out what each planet meant. It's a lot like learning a new language in many ways. It helps to try to use keywords for each point in the chart and put them together in different ways. Eventually you get so used to the words that you can let your intuition take over.
