In my dream last night, my backyard which wasn't really my backyard because it was snowing deep, and was at the base of a mountain range (I live in the desert) had a bunch of gravediggers in it, and I watched as these two strange looking white muscular creatures got angry and burst out of the mountain causing a massive earthquake that swallowed the gravediggers, the trucks and sled dogs into a black chasm. When I turned to grab Shannon and run nothing had happened, and it was weird because I saw the devestation but it was like I was looking at a different part of the world, and a different timeline, if I had to guess, I'd say 1920'-30's, but there was no clear definition between the two timezones. So I stayed and took in this dog and called my aunt to come pick us up, and the dog was talking to me telling me how hungry he was due to the Great Depression that was going to come, and how he had been abandoned by being thrown out of his master's automobile because his master was moving somewhere that was very cold. So while I was waiting I fed the dog some shrimp, I think it was a Boxer, and he told me he'd never seen a microwave before.

(Question did they have microwaves back in the 20's 30's?)

Then my aunt and cousins came and helped me pack the essentials, she said grandma was already there at her house and was waiting for us, but my cousin picks up the phone, and says he's going to runaway (he's only 15) he sprints out the door and down the street. So I look out the window again and it's nighttime, and nothing's happened yet but I see my boyfriend out there amid men wearing old fashioned clothes and driving old fashioned black vans or teams of sled dogs and they were unloading lots of bodies and trying to bury them in the snow so they could make money (it was doled out in cents not dollars) and my boyfriend was very happy because it was cold, (in reality he doesn't like the cold) and because the bodies don't smell, and these people are just digging into the snowy ground at the base of these mountains, and it's peaceful and beautiful and quiet, and all of a sudden his cellphone rings, and he answers it and this old woman who looked like an ancient greek priestess told him "My son, you must get away from there! Something terrible will happen, very soon now!" and he said, "Mother I'm at work can we talk about this later?" (No my boyfriend's not greek just for the record) she's quiet for a moment and then starts wailing "You have made them angry for burying the dead at the sacred mountains! You have not prepared their bodies with the proper herbs and rites! The earth will open and swallow you way down into the bowels of mother earth! you have been presumptuous for burying bodies without consulting their proper lots in the realm of Hades!" Then he said, "Thanks for your motherly concern. Goodbye" and he went back to work, and I'm here watching everything, and then his mother sent him a mental message saying that she was sorry she had bothered him, and that he was going to be missing out on a happy marriage and wonderful life, and then she sent him the date , it was the 20th and it showed a devestated graveyard. After that my boyfriend just walked out the door, I handed Shannon to my aunt, who was very upset that her son had run away and took the talking Boxer and no sooner had my boyfriend stepped into the house when those two weird creatures burst out of the mountains and I was watching the gravediggers scream as the ground split into a very canyon, and bodies and vehicles were sliding into this very black pit.

That is one freaky dream, anyone got any suggestions about what it could mean?

Just as an added note, I am checking out devestating earthquakes in the 1920's.

well actually the dream was a blurring of today and the past. and yes you read chasm right. :) Shannon is my daughter's name. my boyfriend is part native american among other things, and his family is catholic but he's pagan like me. as far as the strange white creatures I either couldn't see them very well, or i don't remember what they looked like very well, I do know that they walked on four legs, and came out of the mountains more like a big cat pouncing, rather then being humanoid, though again I can't describe them very well except that they were white and muscular and kinda roundish. Some of what you say does make sense, but I guess I'm gonna need to go threadhunting to see what you and 1111 have been talking about, and thank you for the links, it's gonna take me a while to figure these things out in my head. Peace Mustang:hugz:

hmm well, ok but what about the talking boxer? you said you were talking about yours right? the one in my dream was a lovely fox red, with a white square patch on his chest and four white tipped paws. his ears were unclipped and he was rather large. I mean I suppose it could be my totem clueing me in on something, Dog only ever appears in my dreams and never as the same breed all the time. Plus aren't dogs, (not neccesarily boxers) associated with the underworld as well? that would make sense.

another weird element to the dream was that on my side of the house it was early morning, and in the backyard/mountain range it was night, but it wasn't winter on my side of things it was hot and hazy early summer-ish you know? isn't there something in norse mythology about fire and ice?

no your not monopolizing at all mustang, Dog is one of my totems in fact, and what an interesting coinkydink, I too suffered a dog attack that barely missed my eyeball. and i did forget dogs do warn people of earthquakes, and it just so happens i do live in earthquake territory, san andreas fault. though i haven't felt one for a long time. interesting that you mention gemini it was my first craft name, though i don't use it anymore. also interesting that you mention yellow labs, Dog first came to me as a Yellow Lab in the countryside. Dog has also come to me, as a Husky, German Shepard, Maltese, Shi tzu and Great Dane. and once upon a time I did post a thread here about having a dream about Cassieopea. you lost me a little at the mystery machine sorry. though I always say be open to the truth no matter whence it's source. you've been really helpful actually thanks so much!
and thank you for sharing your meditation experience as well. sounds incredible, and a little skeery.
