GRAFENWOHR, Germany -- Legislation that would restrict the sale of certain men's magazines on U.S. military bases around the world would be bad for morale, according to soldiers at Grafenwöhr.

U.S. Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga., has introduced legislation that would close a loophole in the current law that allows the sale of some sexually explicit material on military bases by lowering the threshold required to deem material "sexually explicit."

When you have the internet, who needs to buy porn at the PX anyway?! :hehehehe:

They're serving our country yet we can't even allow them to have porn like normal citizens are able to get? What a bunch of rubbish. Way to give incentives to fight for this blasted country.

What a stupid idea. Don't these people have anything better to do with their time?

You've got a bunch of guys, in a fairly intense environment, and now they want to take away one of the most popular methods of relaxation and entertainment? I mean, they're only talking about Penthouse and Playboy, FFS, it's not like it's freakin' farm animals and amputees.

for godless sakes, thats insane! i think the military should provide prostitutes for their soldiers as it is. atleast that way the few women who are out in the field wont get sexually harrassed near as bad.

If this Republican representative from Georgia is anything like Newt Gingrich, this measure means the man has a private pr0n stash.

May hurt morale? More like most definitely will hurt morale.

When you deny your so-called defenders the life that the rest of your citizens are allowed to lead, they'll turn on you eventually.

I wonder what on Earth Paul Broun is trying to achieve by this stupid idea?

Maybe he has a fetish for Gay Military porn. All these soldiers not seeing women and working in a tight knit group....

Next thing he may say is to send over cameras and KY jelly.

A world without porn is a scary thought.

A world without porn is a scary thought.

Even more so when the people who are potentially without porn are brimming with testosterone and heavily armed...

I'm surprised that ol' Hef hasn't figured out a way to mail soldiers their subscriptions incognito.

Seriously?? that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard- I am sending mags over in my next random care package.

That would drive me mad. And I'm female, and not under the stress of fighting a war! I can't imagine what could be achieved by denying soldiers this outlet for their stress and loneliness. Clearly this guy doesn't expect soldiers to be human with human needs and desires.
