Smokey quartz. (The name says it all... from what I've heard, it is a pretty good aid in quitting to smoke. :smile:)

Dumortierite is supposed to be helpful concerning addictions, because it helps the addict recognise the pattern of addiction. Labradorite and amethist are some of the other crystals related to overcoming addictions. (However, you might also want to take a look at the reason why somebody became addicted in the first place and work from there.)

Aside from Crystals there are a lot of other things you could do to quit.
Meditation and a few other things helped me quit.

amethyst is really geared towards drinking and drug addictions. you could try it for smoking problems.

there is a new type of quartz out there... well not so much new but it was first studied and analized within the last few years.... it is referred to as hotspot quartz and has dark brown (smokey) spots in it. The spots are caused by natural isolated radiation. I'm going to do a writeup on it in the quartz thread soon (as soon as I gt back into the mood to continue that study..) but in the mean time let me just say that it is an amazing healer which has healing energies geared towards addictions as well as tumors, cysts and any other form of unwanted body growths which have invaded the body.

When I mention new above I am refering to new to western culture... they have been using this crystal for the exact same things mentioned above in south america for generations. It is also the "mineral tool" used by some south american medicine men to remove hostile invasive "darts" from unsuspecting victims. Anyone having studied south american medicine men will know what is meant by "darts". For those not familiar with the term it refers to dis-eases some people get which are thought to have been inflicted by another medicine man wishing to cause harm to that particular individual for whatever reason. He is said to have shot the victim with a dart which embeds itself into a particular part of the body depending on the effect wanted and which then need to be withdrawn by another, more powerful, medicine man... think of it as a metaphysical/psychological war between two adversaries. This "dart healing" is still practiced today....
