Father in-law got struck by bus

Please spare a thought for my father in-law, his wife, and his children, one of which is my wife, as he had the misfortune of tripping and walking under a bus.

He's in the hospital right now.

My sister in-law tells us that his one arm is pretty much shattered, and he's broken several bones including his spine, and his gotten pretty scraped. Luckily, his brain didn't get hurt, and the doctors think his chances are good. We'll get to know his surgery schedule in a couple hours.

Kaylara told him to keep moving his legs, to avoid clogging up his blood. He replied he woke up with vibrators on his legs, having to ask the nurse what that was all about! Apparently the doctors found him in such a bad shape they didn't think he was going to be able to move all that well by himself, so they stuck vibrators to his extremities to keep his blood flowing.

If the situation weren't as sad as it is, I'd laugh at it.

My father is going into surgery tomorrow morning to try to repair some of the massive damage done to his arm. According to my father his arm is completely crushed, (He's pretty stoned on pain killers though. He said he didn't have much nerve damage either. That could be because a lot of them are just gone.) My sister said that a large part of his forearm is missing and tomorrow they're going to try to clean it up, disinfect it, reattach what muscles are left, repair the bones, and do some skin grafts.

I'll keep you guys updated as things happen. This is going to be a very long recovery for him, and he will probably never be back to how he was before.

I don't know. Unfortunately, my sister didn't find out what time he was going to be going into surgery... But I'm going to call him in the morning and wish him good luck, so if/when I find out, I'll let you know.

Hmm, I reached out to send him some Reiki energy and felt... emptiness. Scared me for a moment but then I connected and realized he was sleeping or stoned on pain meds. Don't know how much help the Reiki will be with that much damage, but hopefully it will help his body to help itself as much as possible and make the surgery go a little better as well.

Also sending some energy for the family, as I know how worried you all must be. :hugz:

My father in-law was released from hospital today. We haven't gotten hold of him yet, but we are assuming the medical staff let him go because he's good enough to get better on his own.
