You might actually get a better president that way!, or you could do worse, and get someone even worser than Bush (although I'm not sure if that's possible ;)!).

I second that idea.

Actually, G.K. Chesterton had a similar idea, back in 1904.. The Napoleon of Notting Hill. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Napoleon_of_Notting_Hill) It certainly made for some entertainment, in his version.

I say we just do away with the government altogether.

That indeed is an idea I'm coming to be increasingly in favour of.

As much as I would love to agree with you, it won't be possible. Even if we do get rid of the government, somebody will always step in and take over.

So, we would get scratch-off tickets and the one with three in a row on the card wins! Alright!

Why do I suddenly have visions of horrible reality shows like Dancing With The Presidents, President Idol, or Presidential Survivor? (Sadly, I might actually watch if it's America's Next Top President.)

Pick me. I won't be too oppressive. After a while I'll get bored of it and give people back some freedoms.

I'll only vote for you if you get three in a row on my scratch off lottery ticket. Otherwise, I'm totally voting for 2.00 which is usually what I get three in the row of.
