Leading up to the discovery that I am a 'pagan'....I had callings along the way. Symbolisms that I was drawn to and colors that are very significant to me...I painted by bedroom purple...more violet actually. Dieties that come to me during sleep and during my daily experiences. Especially Rhiannon. The Great Spirit sends me birds, most eagles, falcons and woodpeckers. And Rhiannon, she loves to dance through my dreams. Llud always pops up somehow or another.
In my teens the number eleven went with me wherever I went...my new address, my homeroom number, locker, on and on...
I was a slow learner. It took me years to connect all the mystical and spiritual dots! I knew things all the time too. What someone was going to say (before they said it) when family would be showing up unexpectedly. I knew that I was a 'seer' but it took another loved one to point it out and encourage me to develop my gift. This gift still scares my sisters. Freaks them out!!!
Another example was my dislike for Christmas. My whole family loves the holiday, I on the other hand could do without it. I don't have contempt for it. Although, it never quite fit who I am. My father always understood. Knowing I am a 'half breed' part Cherokee-- he is really the only one who has completely understood me. I was told that I am "Deborean" and also by a shaman that I am a soothsayer. I believe I am probably both of those things. I understand the pathworking. I have practiced that all of my life, since childhood and quite naturally. The whole Deborean concept is still new to me.
Please share your experiences with your revelations along the path. The signs you received along the way. What spoke loudest to you? How did you come to understand and accept the pagan calling? I love hearing other pagan's experiences, it helps when I am feeling out of whack with the contemporary world. Plus, this is the best way for me to get to know each of you. Thanks. Faith and warm to each of you.
