I had a strange neurological hiccup a few months back & had the same thing happen a week ago. I had an MRI & a MRA done & will be having an echocardiogram tomorrow. They are thinking I may have had some mini strokes. It maybe hereditary as my Mom had her first stroke at 38 & I'm 37. Long drawn story but I'm scared witless not so much for myself but if something happens to me, I have 2 lil girls, both with Autism.
Please any energy, vibes, prayers, anything at all would be appretiated. I'm well & truly terrified. :sadman:

:hugz: I hope everything turns out alright. I understand your fears that you won't be able to look after others who need you. I'd suggest that you stay calm, but that's much easier said than done. Just try your best, and we'll keep supporting you all the way.
Here's some of my energy. I hope it does you well, and keeps you strong.

:hugz: I hope you are OK and that you have good health for many decades to come. :)

I can understand your anxiety but it is good that they have done the tests. If you do have any underlying medical/nurological problems the risks can almost certainly be minimised by finding out about it and starting treatment now.
I really do know how nerve wracking it can be to be waiting for the results of tests (my Mum is presently waiting for the results of some tests to hopefully rule out cancer)...
Thinking of you and sending as much calming energy as I can. :hugz:

Thanks everyone :) I can't really talk to anyone at home about how scared I am. I'm the one everyone leans on so if I show weakness or worry, everyone freaks out.
:hugz: thank you so much

its natural to be scared and it's alright to be scared. allow yourself that - just don't let the anxiety consume you in the process. I'm glad they're doing the tests and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. *hugs*

Energy sent for the best outcome and for courage as you wait to find out what that will be.
I know how you feel about the kids. My daughter has some serious health issues (in part from birth and in part from a car crash), she and I live together and I'm helping raise my grandchildren, one has ADHD and one has Autism (PDD-NOS). I'm no spring chicken anymore and wonder how long I'll be around to help all of them. I try not to think about it, but every now and then the thought creeps in.

Thank you everyone :hugz: I'm trying to get a grip, the waiting for results is making me so frazzled.

WitchOfEndor, I don't know if it applies to you, but for many people certain types of hormonal therapy, including the Pill, can increase stroke risk. I had looked into going on the pill a few months ago because of the severity of my moodswings, but decided not to ultimately, for that reason.
Also, do you have migraines? That's one of the big risk factors for increased stroke risk associated with hormone therapy. Its also interesting to read up on the physiological reasons behind migraines--constriction and exansion of blood vessels in the brain, the constriction part in extreme cases for migraines reduces circulation in the same way that mini-strokes do. A friend of mine who had what they thought were migraines, has recently been reassessed, and they're calling what's going on with her transient ischemia now.
:hugz:
Good luck.

Yep, I'm on BCPs to control the severity of my periods. They'll prolly have to be stopped. They've put me on a med called Aggrennox, it's got asprin in it & some other med that is supposed to stop the formation of clots. Just started it, take it once a day but start twice a day on Friday. It may cause headaches so they build you up to full dose. ~sigh~ My Mom had the exact same problem only I have type I diabetes on top of it. Any screwed up genetic code on either side of my family, I end up with. I'm starting to think I must have been a pretty shitty person in a past life & that karma is finally catching up with me.

Alternatively maybe you've been a really great person and the universe thought you were ready to shoulder some of the tougher challenges--someone has to....but it sucks at the time....

:hugz: Dressing a candle for you and your family! I have very dear friends who teach children with autism. I have trained some Autistic people to work for the company I work for. They hold a special place in my heart ! You are going to be just fine!

Well the MRI & MRA came out normal but the echocardiogram came out with some problems with my heart. Waiting to see a cardio doc now. Hope it's gonna explain the stroke symptoms. Sort of feeling like a ticking time bomb. ~sigh~

Well at least they found something. If they know something then they can fix it.

I'm glad you got the tests done, even though the results weren't fantastic
at least now you know and together with your doctor you can reduce your risk of having a full blown stroke.
*hugs you tight*
