Try searching for them on eBay. You can find some really lovely ones there. Or else you can do what I did for my first three years: draw your own onto a piece of cardboard and decorate that instead.

how do u draw them on card? I mean i've tried it and the spacing between the points were wrong.

I placed a cup upside down on the cardboard, drew the circle around it and then just eyeballed the rest. Mine weren't perfect, but they were close enough that they worked for me. :) **was always good in art classes**

... google.com as they have some great stuff!!!!!!

A good pentacle subsitute is to cut an apple in half!!!!

five perfect points!!!!!

I have drawn a penti or two in my time and some of them did not turn out the way I wanted them to!!!!!!!

Practice makes perfect however, so try and try again!!!!!

...another point to concider is by practicing drawing them in differing sizes etc you always can practice Magic where ever you are. I think visualizing them helps with your visualization practice anyway. Eventually it all is a matter of practice.....

If you can find one on the net, maybe you could draw one. Use a bowl to draw the circle. Decorate and color it how you see fit :)

  I think I may have a couple in my "picture" archives. If you like, I can search for them and email a couple of examples for you. They are nothing spectacular; just basics.......

How about this one:

http://www.sacredspiral.com/crafts/patterns/penta.html

You could just print it right off and it would be perfect! Then you could decorate it however you wanted.

Good luck!

I made the one I have on my altar from strips of bark. The basic circle I wet the strips, braided them and tied them around a large bowl. Once they had dried I made the star with other braided pieces. The only cost was time. I put flowers on it, or leaves or whatever strikes me! I used the bark from a live oak for this particular one but the actual idead came from one I saw made from elm bark.

My brother's ritual pentacle is made out of Sculpie Clay.

Mine, for years, was simply drawn in a bowl of salt -- if I used one at all.

My comercially manufactured pentacle necklace isn't quite "perfect" in shape. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If you want to be more accurate, though, try working with a compas & protractor.

I've found that when you're just going for symetry, the best way is to start with the central pentagon (relatively easy to draw symetrically) and extend each of the lines until they cross (forming the points).

You can make "play-dough" by mixing flour & salt with water (about 1 part flour & 1 part salt, enough water to get the consistancy you want) and use this to make a "permanant" one of your own.

Really -- there's seldom reason to spend lots of money for ritual tools! :)

ChelleOfShadows,

I really like the idea of that bark one! I may "steal" the idea....

Of course not till I visit my in-laws again. (There's plenty of trees -- both standing & down -- there. Around here, I'd have to kill one to get enough bark.)
