View Full Version : Hookworm larvae and demon boys.

Two weird dreams lately.

In one, I think Lilith visited. Only for a moment, it was just an impression. But She/I wandered off with two demonboys for some...fun. That was the better of the dreams.

This second dream was last night.

Bugs.

Not just bugs, but hookworms-crossed with-mosquito larvae. So those white little maggoty wriggling larvae with heads on them that will burrow through my skin and into my meat.

They were everywhere. Especially the carpet though. Everywhere I looked, they were worming their way between the fibers, waiting for me to cross the carpet so they could burrow into my skin.

At one point, I fell down on the carpet and had trouble standing back up. A friend who was there starting tickling me, which made it completely impossible to stand at all. It was then, as I writhed around on the floor, unable to breathe or stand, that I felt the worms start to burrow into my back, my ass, my legs, my hair...

I screamed. I screamed so hard, I woke up both myself and DH. He says he's never heard me scream like that before. He'd never heard me so scared.

Now, I don't know that the dreams mean anything... but they're weird. And vivid. Which doesn't happen to me often.

Ideas?

I can't think of much. For the second one the only thing that comes to mind is kind of literal.

Do you have a problem or a lot of little problems that are "eating" at you? Or that you're trying to dance around, evade, avoid, but feel very precarious about, as if the moment you slip up its all going to "get" you?

It could be.

It could also be that i effing hate those mosquito larvae. Right up there with Silverfish to give me the heebie-jeebiez.

And I have nightmares about death sometimes. Like, the stuff that happens when you decay, only if i were conscious. This felt familiar in the "worms are eating me" aspect. Usually the nightmare is being buried alive and going from there. This time though, its the worms eating me while I'm still alive. I know that happens, especially with hookworms, who really do burrow up into your flesh - usually thru your feet.

I don't know. Lots of dreams involving sex and death lately. For me, you would think this is normal, but it really isn't. My communication with The Stuff Beyond the Veil generally happens in the forms of omens, portents, signs, scrying - things that happen while I'm conscious or intentionally putting my brain into alpha waves.

Maybe I just need to stop eating garlic & artichoke pizza after gardening all day.

No, no. You need to eat more garlic, so that you will be less appealing to the worms...:uhhuhuh:

Years ago I read a book by Orson Scott Card, don't remember the title, but in it there was a ravenous weasel-like creature that attacked the victim and burrowed in before it could be stopped. I had SO many nightmares about that critter....:awilly:...odd since usually what I read, whether horror or othersise, doesn't have much effect on my dreams.

Is someone annoying you...getting under your skin, so to speak?

I suppose, if you take "getting under your skin" in a literal sense. DH and I are "open" and there's someone whose been driving me up a wall lately. I suppose he could be said to be getting under my skin.

But not to eat my soul like larvae... (LOL)

Maybe its all just manifestations of the stress of juggling two boys and a million responsibilities at once this week...

Yes, that's exactly what I'm wondering. I've worked with Lilith for over a decade now, and She's visited me twice in that whole time in dreams. This is not a normal "popping in for a cuppa" for Her.

And as for using the things I fear to "free" myself... how exactly am I supposed to be using hookworm larvae to promote my own well-being?

its very simple.. instead of pulling away in fear. welcome the fear and let the larvae hookworms borrow into your skin, freedom in this case might be welcoming the fact that your not in control, however i am not you and i dont know your dieties motives only going through the act would give way to the reason.

you seemed more then willing to go and play with the demon things to entertain yourself and bring misery to those around you by being mischievious, but you become afraid and run away when the "darker" nature has been turned upon you for the enjoyment of another, do you not see the problem here?

Excuse me? Exactly who do you think you are claiming to have any idea about how I practice and with what entities?

Unless you somehow are claiming the responsibility for being the person who was "turned upon" me that "darker nature" I believe you are speaking out your ass on topics you have no real knowledge about.

Since you and I have never had any real interaction, I fail to see where your impressions of my spirituality arise. If you care to get to know me better, please, feel free to take this off this thread and PM me.

I think he's taking your term Demonboy with a contemporary interp, the usage implying something evil. It might be that he thought you were suggesting that you had some fun with some force representing evil.

I interpreted it more broadly than that, maybe "darK" but not evil, but I'll admit that not knowing your exact meaning when you used the term made me hesitate to try an interp on that one, because I know that the term "demon" has so many different meanings....

Might be worth clarifying what you meant, and possibly what Lilith means to you. I think that the mythology surrounding her has been twisted around and she tends to be a bit...misrepresented. But just mentioning her name might bring up some really bad connotations for people who look at her as she is represented by that mythology.

Just some thoughts....I think he did make a lot of assumptions in his interpretation, but on the other hand I avoided interpreting the first because I didn't want to make assumptions, since there are such widely differing perspectives.

Fair enough...

The demonboys of the first dream - they were certainly less than "evil." LOL The reason I had the impression they were demons was because as I saw them up close I noticed they had horns. Twisty ram-like horns that matched their haircolor.

They both had long hair and were playing air-guitar to some speed metal they had coming out of a stereo resting between them. They didn't seem particularly intelligent, but they most definitely seemed malleable and eager to assist the Lilith/me in the dream. It was only a few moments of dream-time in which Lilith/me walked past the horned boys, snapped Her fingers, and told them to come over where we could have "a little fun." (At which point, She/i hopped over a ledge into a mess of surprisingly soft bushes and had a little fun! )

It wasn't really the Lilith dream that upset me though. Actually, I rather enjoy having Her come to me. The couple of times it's happened, we get along famously! For me, while She isn't an entity that I would call on for every little thing, She's someone I see as a protector, someone who looks out for all the little wild children who might just have a touch of demon in them. (There's more to it than that, but for the purposes of this dream that pretty much sums it up.)

The hookworms - I still haven't got a clue. I didn't have any real significant "squickyness" about them before the dream. The fear as I remember it comes less from the idea of pain - there wasn't any pain at all in the dream even when they burrowed into me - it was the fear of the diseases they carry. As though somehow I knew if they got far enough into me, they would make me sick and die.

I suppose it could be work...(just thinking out loud now) I've described where I work as being similar to being "bit to death by minnows" which I guess could be a similar thing, only more gross. That's all coming to a head as I get ready to leave the team that's being irritating and moving to a new team. I didn't think I cared enough about work for it to invade my dreams in such a vivid or frightening way though.

/sigh

...I suppose this would be a good time to mention that I had another dream involving La Lorna again last night? I swear I've never been "tapped on the head" so often in all my life! This time, she was a gaudy cheesy palm and tarot reader in a little shack by the side of the road who took all my amulets I brought with me as payment, and then handed me one back - one I didn't recognize. It was either red jade or red agate, and had something carved into it - I couldn't see if it was a cameo or a scarab.

...my head's such a weird place.
