Well we have been in our current apartment for well over a year now, and things have been great we were in love with our apartment manager and her office was right across from us. We over the months we had a few scuffles with our nasty neighbors but nothing to get worked up over. We've had our financial problems to but we have made it by. Now, we have a new apartment manager....from hell....it seems she is trying to pick up all the slack and oversight our old manager had. and decided to put down every single complaint or problem we have ever had onto this warning sheet. Mind you there were only 5 things, mainly us doing trial and error stuff with the dogs. and saying we didnt pay a deposit and our dogs werent approved by the manager when they clearly were or we wouldnt have moved in. Oh, and the best part she left the office early so we couldnt go figure out what we could do or say to fix this mess. Meanwhile this is the tightest we've been in months, im looking for a job and hubbys paychecks havent been very big. i dont know what to do and this whole fiasco has us both in tears, and im not sure what to do. Oh, and we might loose our cat because he wasnt on the lease for some reason ;_;

ISn't there some sort of "grandfather clause" for the cat? If your previous manager knew about the cat, and you have proof, especially if the cat is altered and declawed.. I can't see it being an issue

good luck with everything...i went through the same situation when i was a kid...there were six kids and momma was the only one that worked because daddy was (still is) bed-ridden...we lived in a trailor park and the first owner would let you slide on your rent if you payed a partial amount...well, as with your situation, they changed management...but with all of the shit they put us through, they didn't see anything wrong with having a drug-addict maintence man...we were eventually evicted but momma had enough money to rent us a cheap hotel room for a few nights while my daddy tried to get in touch with his some-what wealthy brother...

needless to say, we came out on the other side better, stronger people

just remember: tuna and jelly don't go good together! :gagged:

You want I should put the new appt manager out of action?

Ok, mebbe not...nice thought though.

Probably new to the job and feels like he/she has something to prove, feels a little insecure in the position so figures make life hell for everyone, pick up every tiny little thing that doesn't matter and look good in the eyes of superiors. Still though, what a tw*t.

I wish you the best.

**Update**
Well hubby and I went to see the manager this morning after waiting on pins and needles all night. Our manager was very very nice and understanding. Apparently what had happened was our downstairs neighbors, the ones I mentioned before had made the multiple complaints on the same day. And it was the assistant manager that was in the office, and the poor girl, since it was the weekend thats when everyone comes in and complains so she sometimes gets frazzled. Anyway, we talked with our manager and explained everything to her saying that we had the dogs since day one and that they had been approved, and we had thought we had paid the pet deposit amount. She said that it was strange that the neighbors had complained when she could clearly see that our deck was very clean and she sees me take the dogs out twice a day to go potty so she knows that they arent going on the deck, she also knows that since Im looking for work that Im home a lot of the time to save on gas and it wouldnt make sense that they would be barking with me in the house. So she told us dont worry about it and tore up the official complaint sheets so that they wouldnt go in our file. She said that she would talk to the neighbors about it and that instead of demanding the entire pet deposit of $300 dollars she would just take on $25 dollars a month onto our rent, and she wont start the payments till July. Well, needless to say I am very very relieved. So thank you all for your thoughts and sorry this was so long but I felt the need to explain :)

No the kitty will be aloud, but because she knows we are cramped on money we have to do our part and keep him a secret for now so that our nasty neighbors dont raise a fuss

Ohhh Im so glad she is being understanding. How on earth would the neighbors know if the kitty is on the lease or not? Sounds like they are nosier than they should be.

these neighbors are real nasty, and im not one to typcast or be rascist but my goodness they arent nice, outwardly they appear to be very nice but not when your on the recieving end of their not niceness. i was walking up our stairs after giving the girls a walk and he shot me a nasty look :( just hoping we can figure something out, really tough that they live right under us
