gods/goddess ?

hi...i'm new here but have a question?

what if i NEVER find a god/goddess?...i've been on the path for several years...but have yet to find a deity...

i just don't feel the "pull" one is supposed to...i don't think i believe in gods/goddesses anymore...i may have to step off of the path for awhile?...*sigh* i just don't know anymore.

Cheer up! You sound discouraged. Are you just frustrated since you haven't found a patron deity after all these years? If it is important to you, you shouldn't give up. What exactly are you looking for? How do you define the "pull?" Perhaps you are trying to hard and fail to see that a god and/or goddess is in your life already.

Dont try to hard - relax and let them come to you, stop trying to feel a pull - feel for your inner peace, you cannot rush a god to adopt you - if you really are dedicated then you need not stop! just carry on what you are doing and it will all come!

Some times when you are looking for somthing, it whont come, but when you stop looking you find it right in front of you!

Good advice! It seems like you have to wait, everytime you are expecting something to happen. Just be patient. If things were meant to be, then, they are meant to be.

Just curious, is there an element that you feel is yours? There are times and paths where you find your element before you ever find a diety. If you have been called to Air, Fire, Water or Earth, then you patron diety would be the God/Goddess of that element!! Just a thought from a different path.

You could go to www.pantheon.org, pick a geographic location, then pick letter of the alphabet once you're there, and just read down the list of names in that category. If you see a name you like the sound of, click on that entry. Keep a list of all of the names you like the sound of. Eventually, you'll find one or more that you want to know more about. Research those that interest you.

Dont worry about it. The feeling inside is what matters. If you dont feel a pull towards a deity then pull one towards you.

Have you tried meditating? It's a great form of relaxation, and if your problem really is that you're trying too hard, then meditation may be the key. Just slip into your trance, with your question held in your head, and it just may be answered :)

Of course, this is just theory. I don't even so much as dabble in meditation.

I meditate daily... it took me a while to get into the habit, but now I can't do without it. But I rarely get answers in any form I can tell at the time, I just get a feeling of peace.

I found my personal connection with Hecate when she kicked me on the butt about a year ago. Took me a while to listen to her, but my life changed completely - and for the better - when I did.

She's taken a back seat for a couple of months, but tapped me on the shoulder a week or so back and made me re-evaluate what I want out of life, and pulled me back to reality when I was living in a fantasy world. And actually, reality is better!!!

She's so down to earth.........
