View Full Version : Have you ever written in a candidate? Would you ever?

Since I don't even like the third party candidates this time around I have no real motivation to vote at all, but then it hit me that I could probably just write in a candidate even if they aren't on the ballot. I was disappointed Ron Paul didn't get the G.O.P. nomination, because I would have been proud to have voted for him. Does this mean I have been denied the chance? Well, not if I have the option to write-in my candidate on the ballot this November. And that is what I may do.

Has anyone ever done that before? If not, would you do it?

Yes for doing it, yes for having done it in the past

I haven't done it in the past, but I'm probably going to this round ... I'm very tired of voting for the person I feel will do the least amount of damage.

Probably won't and wouldn't do it. Fact of the matter is that a write in has very little (kinda like getting bit by an alligator in downtown Phoenix) chance of getting elected; therefore, it is a waste of a vote that could make a difference (yeah I know......_ but I like to believe our votes make a difference). I have been tempted a time or two, but I take voting seriously.

Your vote won't make a difference even if it is cast for the two main parties. Why? Because even though elections have been close lately, it's never been a single vote that made the difference.

Besides that, I hate all the candidates which are running more or less equally, so I am having a really difficult time even figuring out which the lesser evil really is.

ok, question.. what about the new electronic machines? Is the write in option available?

I write in BECAUSE I take voting seriously, as in voting for who I think is the best candidate for the job, not just picking from the two biggest name brands.

I like that idea, I wish I could vote in the U.S. elections (I don't think you can do that in UK elections, if anyone knows differently, please correct me?).

Personally, I'd love to write in Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious, or Darth Vadar/Anakin Skywalker (played by Hayden Christensen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayden_Christensen), also his IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0159789/)).

Personally, I think Hayden Christensen would make a great U.S. President, I know I would pay a lot more attention to U.S. politics, and maybe I'd become the First Man of the White House! ;):

That said, I'd also vote in Ryan Carnes (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1408453/) (and here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Carnes)).

Too bad none of the candidates look like these guys or them ;)!, I think I'd emmigrate to the U.S, actually, it's too bad, UK politicians don't like this either, I know I'd be more interested in UK politics and other teens and people my age would (the gay, bi and curious guys anyway, straight girls, and maybe straight guys (you never now) would too).

I haven't, but I would. Am considering it this time, depending on how the nomination battle plays out.

Darth Vader rules lol

The reason I mentioned mickey mouse was because years ago, back when the Iranians took several of our diplomats Hostage (Back in the late 70's) there were these posters of mickey mouse flipping his middle finger up with a caption "Hey Iran" lol
