new here, please help!

okay, I'm very interested in the occult. i want to learn as much as i can. i have started to learn some. but before i go on i want to try to find a religion/group that best suits me... i have tried to look on the internet (avatar search and what not) and cant really find what im lookin for... anything that anyone can tell me about the druid, pegan, or wicca (their beliefs or what not...) will be greatly appreciated... anything that anyone can tell me about anything for that matter will be appreciated lol :) thank you to all in advance.

Thanks for asking us for help. :) First of all, so I don't go over what you have already done or read, what books have you read and what brings you to this way of life. That's always good to know so we can help point you towards what may work best for you. :cool:

hello bluecat~
well - so far i havent been able to get any books. a friend of mine has just recently introduced me to the occult and i took to it quickly. he is going to let me borrow a book - which, i dont know - but someone else has it at the moment.

i found this site on avtar search i believe when i was trying to find site about pegans. this is my first day here but i like it already. everyone is so nice here, im looking forward to many more happy days here :)

like i said, im hoping to find what best suits me so i can continue to look up more information and get some books on all of this. this is all so intriuging to me. its something i've always wanted to look into since but never got the change to. now that i have some friends who are also into the occult they have inspired me to look into it for myself.

i want to get some books but sadly its hard for me. im at home with no transportation.... and if my mother came with me she would never let me buy a book about magick or wiccas or the occolt or what not. damn overprotective mother, thinks she knows everything. she'll start thinkin im some sort of evil devil worshiper - lol ;-) maybe i can have a friend pick some up for me.

Hi Syrina and Welcome!

I know you said that you had a tough time getting books, but if you can, try to get to a library. I have been able to check out so many books from there. The ones I really like or feel the need to keep forever, I have bought. I have been trying to read a mix of books, some How to's, like Cunningham's Guide to the Solitary Practicioner as well as the Why's- such as Drawing Down the Moon, by Margo Adler. I have also been doing a lot of reading on God/desses and creation stories and astronomy and refreshing my memory on crystals and herbs. Good thing I love to read and learn :)

To find sites, I did a search on About.com and came up with lots of info. A lot are basic info sites, but that is the best place to start.
