Last year I began getting certain signs from Erzulie Freda. Last night, she decided to manifest herself in a very, very, very memorable, crystal clear dream. It stands out because I don't usually remember my dreams at all. It was very sexual, utterly provocative, and focused on not only sex, but vengeance as well.
My practice has always been more Hoodoo than Vodou, but I've had an interest in Vodou. My biggest problem is access to training. There aren't any houses that I know of around here, and travel is a bit out of my budget at the moment. I'm half tempted to tell her if that's the path she wants me to take, she needs to make it happen.
Onto the dream:
I was with a guy who was a bit younger than me. Except for the age, he was just my type. Funny, dorky, and more interested in sex than anything else. We were in his car, driving somewhere, and he was complaining about how much my home town sucks (yeah, it kinda does, but I love it anyway). He pulls under this railway bridge, with trains going over it, and we start... well... you know. (taking out the dirty stuff :) )
This woman and man come up, starting to preach to us, telling us to repent of our sins, all that lovely stuff... And suddenly, Erzulie Freda manifests, as multiple physical women. I don't remember the exact chant, but it had something to do with vengeance, and righting the wrongs that have been done against me.
It seemed odd to me, because I've always associated Erzulie Dantor with vengeance, but this was distinctively the Freda Dahomey aspect. I clearly remember the words "Erzulie of the Dahomey" over and over and over again. And a whole shiteload of pink and white and glittery stuff...
I thought about putting this in Dreams and Divination, but it seemed to fit better here. Any insights would be greatly appreciated :)
