This is a decent book as far as Friends have advised me. This author also has written books about different Orisha such as Oshun, Yemaya, Oya, Eshu etc.

On some vodou sites, they mention that Palo more often involves sacrifice than Santeria and Vodou typically do. Is this actually true?

I haven't looked at Palo in depth, but it was kind of my understanding that the power comes from nature and natural things... and seeing these comments from others threw me off a little bit, as I wasn't exactly sure how sacrifice tied in to that particular view point extensively. I can see for certain things, but there are actually people inquiring how to practice Palo without involving sacrifice...
