The way this works:

Simply answer the current question, be verified by the person who asked the question, and then you ask the next question. Everyone is welcome, but all questions must have an Egyptian focus.

First trivia question:

Name the funerary god that represents the entire spectrum of life from birth to death and the transitional point that moves between them.

Ok,

I was said to once rule the underworld, before Wesir came, I have been depicted as a falcon, and, with my 2 wings, I have unrestricted power and movement, throughout the whole Kemetic underworld. I am sometimes paired with Sekhmet. I am often equated with either Ptah, and Osiris/Wesir.

ClaudiaAtlantis

Amun is right cinnamon!

I read that during lovemaking with Amun (disguised as her husband), Hapshepsuts mother cried out "The Noble Best" at that moment. Makes me worry what my kids would be called! :hahugh:

Shu?

David19
March 1st, 2009, 05:55 PM
Shu?

I completely forgot about this thread, I think Shu is the correct answer (been ages since I actually posted it).

Here's more about Shu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shu_(Egyptian_deity)):

In Egyptian mythology, Shu (meaning dryness and he who rises up) is one of the primordial gods, a personification of air, one of the Ennead of Heliopolis. He was created by Atum from his breath, resulting from an act of masturbation or autofellatio {Papyrus Bremner-Rhind} in the city of Heliopolis. With his sister, Tefnut (moisture), he was the father of Nut and Geb. His daughter, Nut, was the sky goddess whom he held over the Earth (Geb), separating the two.

As the air, Shu was considered to be cooling, and thus calming, influence, and pacifier. Due to the association with air, calm, and thus Ma'at (truth, justice and order), Shu was portrayed in art as wearing an ostrich feather.

You're turn, Agaliha :).

Neith (or Nit as some spell it).

Proclus (412–485 AD) wrote that the adyton of the temple of Neith in Sais
“ I am the things that are, that will be, and that have been. No one has ever laid open the garment by which I am concealed. The fruit which I brought forth was the sun."

Hm. I've seen it attributed to Neith more than anyone else. In fact just about everything that is turning up for the quote is for Neith.

I believe it was about her, but I'll just take another guess, though and say Isis?
