I got a notice to sign up with the draft board when I was 17. I wrote across it:"I'm a girl!", sent it back, and never heard from them again..

I'm actually a member of Sea Scouts, which is a branch of Explorer Scouts, which is a branch of Boy Scouts which allows girls.
The main reason I find this so funny is that some of our leaders were very adamant that we are "Explorer Scouts, not Boy Scouts! There are no girls in Boy Scouts!"

LMAO!!! Grrrrl, you rock! I tried to join Cubs instead of Guides when I was 10, and I was told I'd have to move to Rome because they allowed girls in Cubs then.
You show'em! :D Laminate that baby!

I'm glad that the US has finally caught up with Canada!! hehehehe... Boy Scouts of Canada became Scouts Canada (non-gender) about a year and a half ago, so both boys and girls can be scouts
