Hello all, after a few days trawling through the golden threads on here & on MW's main site I thought I'd take the opportunity to say hi & make that first 'getting to know you' post. I was going to post on the main site but don't seem to have posting rights there yet, which in the greater scheme of things is probably for the best given the book I've just finished writing has been critisised by some as nought bar 'sex, drugs & mind control'.

But I'm jumping ahead of myself somewhat there. (Not a bad trick if you're an astral traveller, which I suppose to some level we all are, given that we're living on a planet hurtling through space).

I was in my mid teens some twenty years ago & doing the hippybiker thing thats pretty common in the UK of enjoying trips out to megalithic sites. Not only were the quiet twisty roads that led to them thoroughly fun & demanding but the sites all had an amasing sense of place & atmosphere. Turning up on Sunday afternoons with the rest of the mob was at first supplemented & then eventually replaced by visits on my own for sunrises & sets, solstices, equinoxes & at points to meet up with the pagan community I'd met on my visits.

The six years between finishing my archaeology degree & getting a job in the heritge industry were daunting. If you're studying now - don't give up hope, while waiting for my 'perfect job' I ended up doing things & learning skills which although at first seemed to be a step away from where I eventually wanted to be, proved invaluable in the long run. I did a two year course to become an electrician and on weekends not doing voluntary archaeo work I started translating phrases for a tattooist friend of mine who wanted to offer something a little more than the odd rune or Sanskrit character.

So life was ticking along quite nicely, I had an excellent job which had me flitting around world heritage sites, a loving marriage, the most beautiful baby girl just born & not a care in the world outside my little bubble. Thats when I got my skull extensively fractured & remodelled by a gang of skinheads for 'hanging out with those n------' who happened to be visiting colleagues.

And then my best friend suffered what we thought was a stroke but turned out to be rapid onset MS.

I lost my job, wife ran off with a big fat wallet & I was struggling with migraines & surgery (swines at the hospital wouldn't do a repair which would leave me looking like a young Sean Connery). I thought life was less than worth it at times.

Anyways - life started to look up after about six months when I took a pro-active role in my pain management. A real fear of the need of ever more powerful painkillers had my doctor asking if I would try hypnosis & to cut a long story short - it did. At first I could only shorten the period of the event but now after three years I can pretty much stop a manifestation in its tracks. Huzzah for learning & yaboo sucks to the pharmaceutical industry.

Once I was able to look at the week ahead without pencilling in three or fours days lying in a darkened room writhing in agony I cheered up considerably. My friend with MS although now bedridden had also had a bit of a breakthrough using cannabis to control muscle spasms & allowing him to feed himself & stave off full time residential care.

With my newfound freedom I decided to do some more doodling at the tattoo studio before I went back & got a proper academic job. That was two years ago - I now tattoo to put food on the table & doubt I'll ever go back to office management & fighting for funding.

So where were we? Oh yes, here we go:

I put all the stuff I'd learnt about hypnotic techniques, NLP & creative visualisations alongside the herb lore than was helping my friend with MS. Added to that lot the visions & tales experienced at megalithic sites & ended up with a book.

Cheers for the time you've spent reading this splurge
