This isn't the first time I've heard of the way crystals are mined, but I found this the other day and thought I'd share it with you guys.

I've often wondered the same thing; where did these stones come from and how did they get here.

Yesterday I visited the local "Pagan Store" and the keeper directed me to a book about being a Witch in the modern world. (I know there are more than a few of these books.) She said that the rituals in this book use things that you have, not things that you have to search for. My relply was that's good cause I hate having to search for certain things.
If you think about it, she answered, the people before us didn't have stores they could visit in order to purchase something to complete a ritual they had to use what was at hand. And I agree whole-heartedly.

I do have a few stones. Not many. After reading this I probably won't have many more.

Thanks for linking to that site, Arzhela. It looks like it has a lot of great articles on there, including that one about crystals.

Reminds me of the ethical issues surrounding diamonds. Since learning of 'blood diamonds' I have many times wished I did not get diamonds in my wedding ring. :(
