Just reviewing my notes and wanted to recommend Judy Harrow's book, Spiritual Mentoring. In it she discusses many elements surrounding mentoring specifically in our Pagan context. She describes how Pagan mentoring is different, what mentors and students can/should get from mentoring, guidelines for choosing students and mentors, and things to consider when searching for a mentor or student such as ritual styles, learning styles, deities, expectations, personal history, etc. She provides a wealth of information for creating nurturing interactions and strong, worthwhile mentor/student relationships. Harrow explores the interpersonal, psychological, and emotional aspects surrounding mentoring at length, providing an excellent guidebook and reference.

Ooooooh, thanks for the recommendation!!! I am definitely going to check that book out and share it with my friend Sandy. She and I "lead" a group (and I use that term loosely) and I have a feeling this book would be very helpful.

I keep meaning to pick up that book. I've really enjoyed Harrow's other contributions - particularly Devoted to You, which was done with other Pagans to demonstrate some of the ways of approaching deity.
Thanks for the reminder about it!
