Has some of you had experiences with the Sacred Plant of name Ayahuasca?
On Friday I went for the first time to a ceremony... and it was something incredible. The ritual belongs to the chamanic traditions of the ancient Mexico and the work was directed to the healing of the internal wounds and the contact with the spirit. I am still astonished.
Somebody has lived something similar?
Blessings

No, I haven't but I'd like to learn more about it. Can you describe what you experienced in more detail?

Hmmmm..I read a book on this a while ago, by Thomas Wolfe.
I wish I could remember the name.

If I recall correctly, the spiritual journey basically just basically allows you to see your inner self. I remember he talked about being violently ill the first time he took it. Throwing up and such.

Here's a link to where you can buy a book about it.

"The Cosmic Serpent" - I forget the author - Jeremy something... is a relly nice introduction on a Westerner's experience with ritual Ayahuasca drinking, and the visions experinced. Then there are a few other more scientific studies written on it "wizard of the upper amazon".
There is a beautiful book of pictures "Ayahuasca visions" which gives a fair idea of what you can expect to see!!
I never tried it (yet) though many of my friends have, and all have nothing but positive things to say about the ceremonies. I have heard experiences from seeing inner self, to contacting spirits, to puking up snakes and suchlike!!

I apologize a for not responding before. It was on a trip and I didn't have access to internet.
My experience with Ayahuasca was incredible. It was a trip toward the interior of myself and later toward the exterior... I could see, for incredible that it seems, the energy that unites us to all, and the mental energy that we use to create the matter. After sharing my experience, somebody told me to saw Alex's Gray site, and the visions that I had resemble this painter's works a lot. It was my first experience and I want to repeat it. Definitively to make it inside a shamanic ritual , contributed to connect me in a deeper way with my being. In a couple of weeks I will connect myself again with the spirit of the Ayahuasca (the granny, as the Mexican natives call it )... I hope to deepen the knowledge that this opening of senses can give me. Thank you for your feedback.

I believe Terrence McKenna may have done some research on the vine.
