What physical effects / affects do you experience during workup for rituals, spells or other major undertakings? Please no reference to grounding I know about that but I'd like to have this one really focus upon what things we experience within and or upon our bodies.
As I reflected upon things and though about this a few items became quite apparent to me. In an attempt to show the differences I've experienced I'll try to present them based upon what I was preparing for.
The most dramatic thing I can recall was when I was preparing for a cleansing that would take 11 days to complete. This particular task was performed over a period that started just before Christmas and carried over the New Year to the 2nd of January. The elements that where involved included a large usage of water, a number of candles, a fire pit and a fire built upon an inlet that jutted into a stream of running water. All the water involved came from a spring that rises from the ground and fills the pond on the place where I live.
About three or four days before the start I did a lot of praying and calling upon Artemis for guidance. Within a few hours of starting I found that I could not eat meat of any sort. The very smell of it turned my stomach and made me sick. It did not matter the time of day or even if I was dreaming. Woke up sick after dreaming about meat and being told it was unpure.
For most of the period involved all I could eat were fruits and nuts. Can't recall the exact nut other than it was the normal ones you see at that time of the year. Fruits where apples, oranges, grapes an occasional pear or grape fruit.
Of course along with the fruit and nuts came the cleansing of the body, Lots of water and water only as a drink. Sweated it out the pores and other means. Yet as I underwent all this I felt better and more prepared for what I was to do.
With the first part of the ceremony, Opening the bridge and starting the flame gate I was calm and focused. Yet I recall I went almost all day without eating and was well after mid-night before I did eat that day, but again nuts and fruit.
As the week passed, the same eating habits and drinking habits. No coffee, no tea, no meat or bread or even cheese that I can recall. Almost a fast on the actual days of the major portions.
The night I closed the gate and released the circle was the same except it was extremely cold. So cold that the water froze upon the ground and in the container I had collected it in. Yet my body was not cold at all once I started and actually had to take off my coat due to the heat my body was making.
Again well after mid-night when I finished and came home. Yet this night was a bit different in that I was so hungry when I got home it felt as if I had not eaten in months and had to take in a lot of sugar. A full meal and ice tea when it was over. My belly full I think I slept for 18 or 19 hours before I awoke. Even then it took a few days or more till I got back to the point of eating more than just fruit and nuts, after the meal that night.
On more than one occasion I have been speaking to spirit and just asking things or asking what I should do. The usual give me a sign to go on. IN each instance when I have really needed something I get a sign to stop and just go into the woods. The sign may be a deer or bear or on a few occasions a gate or opening that has appeared in the fog.
So I stop and start walking back into the woods. Yet on each occasion before I get there I get doubled over with stomach pain and suddenly have to have a bowel movement. The urge is so strong that it makes me sick to my stomach as well as constricting in my bowels. Always a bowel movement and many times I’ll dry heave or vomit what ever is in my stomach out.
It's like until I go through this I can not go beyond a certain point or get a sense of direction to go in. Yet once done I immediately know where to go and it's like I am pulled towards a specific site.
Usually I end up near water when this happens. I've found hidden pools formed by fallen trees or deep wash outs that hold water from the storms and are the only things present with water in them. At one point I got so sick to my stomach I fell down the side of an embankment and slide down the hill. When I got the bottom I stepped on a spot and the ground collapsed and revealed running water that was undetected until I broke the covering.
As you can see I experience violent periods of vomiting and sudden bowel movements when I get called or guided. Literally purging my body of things that could be seen as bad. I have a great need to consume nothing but fruits and nuts and drink water only. Often times the sense of smell is acute to the point where everything is awake and noticed.
I do recall one point where I refused to eat nuts and fruits and stuck to what I made myself eat. At that time if it could go wrong it did. Smoke from a fire triggered my asthma, the smell of certain leaves and tree's burnt my eyes and stung my lungs and nose. Heart burn and acid indigestion that wouldn't stop.
I'll be frank when I start getting the sense to eat nuts and fruit only and have a feeling that something is coming I no longer try to fight the cleansing that goes with it.
I do find I often become reclusive and want to be alone when it starts. As I cleanse and prepare I just want to be by myself and left to think and ask why and try to touch with what I am doing. I find I also have intense headaches during the after stages of it. Almost migraines and I have to separate myself from my family and surroundings as I unconnect from spiritual energies.
